Steam Room Design Studio

Three surfaces speak in a steam room: wall mosaic, seating and the centre panel. Apply the Limestone, Terrazzo and Dante series from the Betsan Mosaic 2024 catalogue and Calacatta or Nero Marquina bookmatch panels in the scene, and try backlit onyx in night view. For the design you share we prepare a discovery file with generator sizing, steam line and bill of materials.

Steam Rooms

Frequently asked questions

How many kW of steam generator does a steam room need?
Roughly 1 kW per cubic metre of room volume, rising with the share of mosaic and glass surfaces. The 12 m² eight-person reference room uses a 12 kW generator.
Which finish should a steam room use?
For constant 100% humidity at 45–50 °C, glass mosaic, porcelain or low-porosity marble are suitable; grout must be epoxy and the ceiling sloped so condensation does not drip.
What is the difference between a steam room and a sauna?
A sauna is dry and hot (80–100 °C, low humidity); a steam room is warm and saturated (45–50 °C, 100% humidity). Steam suits airways and skin, sauna suits muscle relaxation.
