Swim spas offer unlimited swimming in a small space with a counter-current jet system. We cover jets, combining jacuzzi and swimming, installation and energy.
Swim spa, as the name suggests, is a system that combines swimming pool and spa experience in a single compact body.
Unlike a classic swimming pool, you don't need to travel any distance. A powerful countercurrent system located at one end of the pool creates a constant flow of water towards you. You swim against this current and stay where you are, experiencing an unlimited swimming experience as if you were running on a treadmill.
This principle makes swimming possible without the need for a large area. This structure, which takes up little space, can be placed in gardens, terraces and even indoor spaces where a large pool would not fit. Since the strength of the current is usually adjustable, both beginners and experienced swimmers can choose a resistance that suits their pace. The swim spa fits the pool's offerings into a much smaller footprint for those who want to swim regularly in a limited area.
The heart of the countercurrent system is the jet mechanism, which produces a strong and balanced flow of water.
This system takes water from one end of the pool and returns it with a high flow rate, creating a steady current towards the swimmer. In a well-designed system, the flow is felt not like a narrow and hard jet, but like a wide and uniform mass of water surrounding the body. This allows you to make a natural swimming movement. Homogeneity of the current is the basis of a comfortable and realistic swimming experience.
Since the intensity of the current can be adjusted in most systems, swim spa appeals to a wide range of users. You can choose a gentle current for walking and in-water exercise, and a strong current for intense swimming training. The same system allows swimming and various in-water exercises that require resistance to water. The power and quality of the countercurrent jet system is the most decisive element of the swim spa experience. Therefore, system selection is at the heart of the project.
One of the most appealing aspects of a swim spa is that it combines swimming and relaxation in one structure.
Many swim spa setups offer a counter-current swimming area in one section, while providing jacuzzi comfort with heated water and massage jets in a separate section. Thus, after your swimming training, you have the opportunity to rest and relax in the same structure; two different experiences merge into a single field.
This combination is particularly valuable for users who have limited space but want both exercise and relaxation. Instead of installing a separate pool and a separate jacuzzi, combining the two in a single system saves both space and plumbing complexity. Since the temperature and usage needs of swimming and jacuzzi sections may be different, the design of the combination should be designed to balance these needs. We determine this balance together according to the intended use of your project.
While a swim spa is much more compact than a pool, it still requires careful installation planning.
The first thing to consider is the bearing capacity of the ground on which the structure will be located. A swim spa filled with water reaches a serious weight and requires a solid and smooth floor to carry this load safely. In indoor installations, moisture management and ventilation should be planned separately. Location selection should be carefully considered from the beginning in terms of ease of use and technical access.
Another dimension of the installation is the plumbing and electrical infrastructure. The countercurrent system, heating and filtration require certain power and installations. Pre-planning these in accordance with the location of the building prevents problems that may arise later. Easy access to technical volumes simplifies maintenance in the long run. Decisions such as whether it will be embedded in the ground or located above, whether it will be indoor or outdoor directly affect the experience. We make these decisions correctly from the very beginning by evaluating your field and expectations together.
While the swim spa offers comfort with its heated water and strong current system, energy usage is also an issue that should be taken into consideration.
The largest energy item is generally heating water and maintaining temperature. Good insulation and a tight-fitting cover reduce heat loss, making the heating system work less. These details significantly affect energy consumption, especially outdoors and in cold weather.
The countercurrent system and filtration are also energy-consuming components, but their use largely depends on your usage habits. Operating the flow system only while swimming, keeping the temperature at a reasonable level when not in use, and using the cover regularly increases energy efficiency. An efficient swim spa experience is the combination of properly installed insulation and conscious usage habits. When you design your system with energy efficiency in mind from the beginning, you can keep operating costs under control in the long term.
Swim spa is a powerful solution for those who do not have enough space for a large swimming pool but want to swim regularly, do in-water exercise and relax at the same time.
A small garden, terrace or a suitable indoor space can literally be transformed into a swimming and spa area thanks to the countercurrent system. It offers less space, less water and often a more manageable operating load compared to a traditional pool.
To determine the right solution, it is necessary to clarify your space, intended use and priorities. While swimming training is at the forefront for some users, relaxation and massage are at the forefront for others. With our engineering experience in the pool and spa field since 1993, we can evaluate together whether a swim spa is suitable for you and which setup fits your needs. +90 216 475 39 37A swim spa requires more frequent water monitoring than a traditional pool due to its heated and relatively small volume of water. Balances change faster here. Although the movement created by the countercurrent system improves the circulation of water, you should not neglect disinfection and pH control. The habit of regular measurement according to your intensity of use is the basis of keeping water clear and healthy.

With a heating system and good insulation, the swim spa can also be used in cold months. For many users, this year-round swimming opportunity is the most attractive aspect. For outdoor winter use, a tight-fitting cover and insulation keeps heat loss and energy costs under control. It is important to plan for freeze protection for long periods when you do not use it.

The adjustable current provides a suitable environment for swimming, as well as wading, low-impact aquatic exercises and resistance training. You can create a gentler exercise by decreasing the intensity of the current, and a more challenging exercise by increasing it. However, it would be appropriate to determine your personal exercise program with an expert in accordance with your health condition.

The smaller water volume and surface area often makes cleaning and chemical use more manageable than in a pool. However, heating the water and operating the flow system consumes energy; so the total load depends on your usage habit. You can keep operating expenses at a reasonable level with good insulation and conscious use.

Humidity can rise rapidly in a closed space because there is constant evaporation from the heated water surface. This may damage structural elements and surfaces in the long run. For this reason, it is necessary to plan ventilation and humidity management from the beginning in indoor installation. Using a cover also alleviates the moisture load by reducing evaporation during periods of non-use.

If your space is large and you want both a large swimming pool and an independent jacuzzi, separate systems may be more suitable. On the other hand, if you are looking for both swimming and relaxation in a limited area, swim spa combines the two experiences in one structure, saving space and installation. We can clarify the right choice by evaluating your field and priorities together.
