The AstralPool Enclosed Transformer IP65 is a pool transformer in a closed enclosure that powers pool lights and can be installed in damp areas. Çilek Havuz supplies Enclosed Transformer through quotes and as part of its projects. It reduces the 230 V AC mains voltage to the 12-17 V AC range. There are three rating options: 130 VA, 400 VA and 800 VA. The enclosure is IP65 protected and the transformer has Class II insulation. The cable from the transformer to the light can be no longer than 40 m.

Users and applications
The Enclosed Transformer IP65 is chosen when the transformer for 12 V AC underwater lights cannot be placed inside a dry panel. Its enclosure is fully protected against dust and protected against water spray. The model is determined by the apparent power (VA) total of the connected lights. The 800 VA model carries a higher load in a single enclosure than the largest 600 VA model of the IP20 transformer family.

- 800 VA for loads exceeding 600 VA on a single transformer

Installation and compatible equipment
The Enclosed Transformer IP65 sits on the lighting line ahead of the lights. The mains side is connected at 230 V AC and the light side at 12-17 V AC. The connection is made via terminals protected against indirect contact. The output line reaches the lights via the Pool Lighting Junction Box. The light cable is extended with the Pool Lighting Cable and Connection Kit. The cable length from the enclosed transformer to the furthest light does not exceed 40 m.
- The VA values of the lights are added up and the 130, 400 or 800 VA model is chosen.
- The lighting circuit breaker is switched off and the mains input is connected to the terminals in the enclosure.
- The output line is run to the junction box and from there to the lights.
- The cable length to the furthest light is checked not to exceed 40 m.
- The cover is closed with its four screws and the screws are tightened.
// 04 · Maintenance
Maintenance checkpoints
The enclosed transformer has no consumable parts to replace. IP65 protection is maintained as long as the cover is fully closed and the screws are tight. The cover is retightened with its four screws each time it is opened. The cable entries are checked for cracks or loosening. When the lights do not come on, the output voltage of the transformer is measured first, and then the junction box is opened.
- The tightness of the cover screws is checked.
- The cable entries are inspected for cracks and loosening.
- When the cover is opened, the inner surface is checked for condensation.
- When a light is added, the VA total is recalculated.

+90 216 475 39 37The difference lies in the body protection, output voltage and rating range. The Enclosed Transformer IP65 is in a closed enclosure protected against dust and water spray. The Pool Lighting Transformer has an IP20 body and is installed only in a dry panel. The enclosed model has ratings of 130, 400 and 800 VA and a 12-17 V AC output. The IP20 model has ratings of 100, 130, 300 and 600 VA and a 12 V AC output.

The rating is chosen to be equal to or greater than the VA total of the connected lights. The white LumiPlus Essential PAR56 light draws 20 VA and the RGB model 29 VA; for a small number of LED lights, 130 VA is sufficient. For one 300 W halogen light the 400 VA model is chosen, and for two, the 800 VA model.

Yes, the Enclosed Transformer IP65 can be used in damp plant rooms with water splashes. Its enclosure is fully protected against dust and protected against water spray from all directions. It is not protected against immersion in water; it is not placed inside an inspection chamber or in a pit where water can collect. The protection remains valid as long as the cover screws are kept tight.

Underwater lights that run on 12 V AC are connected to this transformer. The halogen PAR56 projector and LumiPlus Essential PAR56 belong to this group. The output voltage of the transformer is in the 12-17 V AC range. The 24 V DC models of the FlexiMini On/Off family are not connected to this transformer; a suitable DC power supply is used for them.

Class II indicates that the transformer has double or reinforced insulation. In this design, protection against electric shock does not depend on an earth connection. All three models of the Enclosed Transformer IP65 are Class II. The input is 230 V AC, the output is 12-17 V AC, and the transformer is housed in an IP65 protected enclosure.

The cable length from the enclosed transformer to the furthest light does not exceed 40 m. The cable is extended with the Pool Lighting Cable and Connection Kit. The joint stays inside the Pool Lighting Junction Box. If the distance exceeds 40 m, the transformer is moved to a point closer to the lights or the line is split between two transformers.

The package weight is 3.1 kg for the 130 VA model, 6.8 kg for the 400 VA model and 11 kg for the 800 VA model. The manufacturer codes are 35807, 35385 and 35386 respectively. Each model is packed singly. These values show the packed weight and increase with the rating.
