The 2-Panel Solar Pool Heating System is a two-collector solar pool heating kit connected to the pump outlet to warm the water of small outdoor pools and above-ground pools with the sun. Çilek Havuz supplies 2-Panel System through quotes and as part of its projects. The two panels are joined to each other by a connecting hose. It is the kit with the fewest panels in the family. It needs no electricity, and a single Standard kit is available.

Users and applications
Intended for users who want to warm the water of a small garden pool or an above-ground pool with a filter pump on sunny days. The two panels take up little space and are placed on a sunny surface beside the pool. In a large or uncovered pool, the effect of two panels remains limited.

Installation and compatible equipment
The kit is connected between the filter pump outlet and the pool return. The panels are placed beside the pool in a sunny position that is not shaded. The two panels are joined by the connecting hose at their upper ends, so that water enters at one end and leaves at the other. On an above-ground pool, an adaptor is used if the pump hose diameter does not match the panel fittings.

Maintenance checkpoints
Panels standing at the poolside collect leaves and dust, so the surface is washed with water regularly. When the above-ground pool is dismantled at the end of the season, the panels are also drained and stored in a dry place. Water freezing inside can damage the channels. The connecting hose and fittings are checked for leaks at every installation.

For these pools, the 4-Panel Solar Pool Heating System is considered.

A two-panel kit can be connected to an above-ground pool that has a filter pump. After leaving the pump, the water goes to the panels and returns to the pool warmed. The panels are placed beside the pool on a sunny surface that is not shaded. If the pump hose diameter does not match the panel fittings, an adaptor is fitted between them.

The 2-panel kit is chosen for a small or above-ground pool, and the 4-panel kit for a medium-sized outdoor pool. With twice the number of panels, the 4-Panel Solar Pool Heating System needs more space. If the pool is not covered at night and space is available, the 4-panel kit is considered. Neither kit needs electricity.

First, it is checked whether the panels receive sun throughout the day and whether they are shaded. Next, it is confirmed that the water actually passes through the panels and that no air remains in the hose. Flow decreases in a hose with trapped air. If the pool is not covered at night, the heat gained during the day is lost from the surface; in a small pool this loss shows more quickly.

The heating time is not given as a fixed value; it varies with hours of sunshine, pool volume, number of panels and use of a cover. No heating time is published on the page for the two-panel kit. The panels collect the most heat around midday, so the filter pump is run during the sunny hours.

As the water volume in a small pool is low, heat is lost quickly at night. To reduce this loss, the pool is covered after sunset.
