What is manual pool cleaning equipment, and how is it chosen?
Pool cleaning equipment covers the tools for manual pool maintenance: the pool vacuum head, pool brush, leaf net, the telescopic pole that carries them, and the floating hose and adaptor for vacuuming. Selection starts with three facts: the type of dirt to be removed, the pole length and the head connection. Dirt that settles on the floor is removed with the vacuum head and hose, leaves floating on the surface are collected with the net, and the walls and waterline are cleaned with the brush. Heads attach to the pole with a clip or a wing nut; on classic vacuum heads the connection size is 1½ or 2 inch, so the vacuum head and pole need to be chosen from the same system.

Choosing the telescopic pole length
The telescopic poles on our site range from 1.8 - 3.6 m to 6.5 - 13 m, with 2.4 - 4.8, 2.5 - 5, 3.75 - 7.5 and 5 - 10 m models in between. The length is chosen so that the pole reaches the farthest point of the pool.

Attaching the vacuum head to the pole
Heads attach to the pole with a clip or a wing nut. The Classic L:350 aluminium vacuum head has a 1½ inch clip-on connection and the L:450 vacuum head a 2 inch clip-on connection. The head and pole need to be chosen with the same connection system.

Classic aluminium vacuum heads are 350 and 450 mm wide, and vacuum heads for public pools are 800 mm wide. The head width is chosen according to the size of the pool and how heavily it is used.

Vacuum hose diameter and length
The floating pool hose is available in 38 mm diameter in lengths of 8, 10, 12, 15 and 30 m, and in 50 mm diameter in a 30 m length. Models with and without adaptors are listed separately; the blue and white flexible adaptors are matched by hose code.

The Classic L:350 aluminium vacuum head has a 1½ inch clip-on connection and the L:450 vacuum head a 2 inch clip-on connection; wing nut heads are also available. In the Serenit series the connection is clip-on. The vacuum head and pole are chosen for the same connection system.

A surface or flat net is chosen for leaves and insects floating on the surface, and a deep net for leaves that collect on the floor. The Blue Line, Shark and Classic series include models of these types; a deep leaf rake and the Cyclonic leaf catcher are also in the category.

The pole is chosen long enough to reach the farthest point of the pool. Our site has 1.8 - 3.6 m, 2.4 - 4.8 m, 2.5 - 5 m, 3.75 - 7.5 m, 5 - 10 m and 6.5 - 13 m models; a 5 m aluminium telescopic pole is also listed as a single product. Reinforced aluminium poles are found in the longer lengths.

The hose diameter is chosen to suit the vacuum point and the vacuum head connection. On our site the 38 mm hoses are 8, 10, 12, 15 and 30 m long, and the 50 mm hose is 30 m long. Models with and without adaptors are listed separately; flexible adaptors match by hose code, and a hose reel is also available.

Blue Line wall brushes are 48 and 50 cm wide, Serenit brushes 44, 45, 46 and 50 cm, and microfibre brushes 46 and 63 cm. The underwater wall brush is 50 cm. Classic brushes come in PP bristle and stainless steel bristle models. Width and the choice between bristle and microfibre are confirmed together in the technical data sheet and at the quotation stage.

The rechargeable portable pool vacuum runs for 45 minutes. This model is the rechargeable option among the manual cleaning equipment. Robotic cleaners and chemical products are in separate categories; for the list price, technical data sheet and a quote, a request can be made from the product page.
