Heating output in kW is heat delivered to the water. Electrical input in kW is power drawn from the supply. Energy consumption in kWh includes how long the equipment operates. These values are not interchangeable.
COP relates heating output to input at a stated operating point. It changes with conditions and load, so the highest published COP is not a full-season average.
At an illustrative operating point of 10 kW heating output and COP 5, electrical input is approximately 2 kW. Four hours at exactly that operating point would consume about 8 kWh. Multiply measured energy by the applicable tariff for the relevant energy cost.
This example does not mean the pool warms up in four hours or uses 8 kWh every day. Initial heating and maintaining temperature are different loads. Air temperature, wind, surface area, target temperature and cover schedule change the result.
Filtration and auxiliary equipment can add consumption beyond the heat pump itself. State whether they are included rather than equating the heater calculation with the entire electricity bill.
For an inverter unit, one instantaneous reading is not a monthly total. Compare recorded kWh under similar weather and use. Prepare location, dimensions, swimming months, cover use and your current tariff before requesting an assessment.
