The Zodiac Sirocco² Indoor Pool Dehumidifier is a heat pump dehumidifier that removes moisture from the air of an indoor pool hall. Çilek Havuz supplies Sirocco² through quotes and as part of its projects. Its four models remove 2.5-5.7 litres of moisture per hour and circulate 600-1000 m³/h of air. It is installed either as a free-discharge unit or through the wall. With the electric heater or hot water coil option, it also heats the air in the hall.

Users and applications
Sirocco² is chosen to remove from the air the moisture that evaporates from the water in an indoor pool hall. The unit draws in humid air, condenses its moisture and blows the dry air out vertically. The model is selected according to the amount of water that evaporates in the hall. If a spa is connected to the pool, the water it evaporates is also added to the calculation. When the pool cover contact is connected, the unit switches to an energy saving mode that lowers the air heating temperature while the cover is closed.

// 03 · Installation and compatibility
Installation and compatible equipment
Sirocco² is installed in one of two ways: as a free-discharge unit in the pool hall, wall-mounted or on a stand, or through the wall. If the wall cannot carry the unit, a support stand is used; the unit is still fixed to the wall when on the stand. Condensate is drained with a Ø12/18 flexible pipe. The unit is supplied from a 220-240 V, 50 Hz line.
- The installation type is chosen: free discharge or through the wall.
- The unit is placed on the wall mounting profile or the support stand and fixed to the wall.
- The condensate drain is connected to the waste outlet with a flexible pipe.
- If the hot water coil has been chosen, the primary line is connected to the 15/21 male threaded connection.
- The electrical supply is connected and the unit is checked in Test mode.
// 04 · Maintenance
Maintenance checkpoints
The air inlet filter of Sirocco² is kept clean; a clogged filter reduces airflow. We check that the condensate drain pipe is open and that water flows to the drain. The built-in humidity sensor carries out self-diagnosis and reports any measurement inconsistency. If a fault is suspected, Test mode is used.
- The air inlet filter is checked and cleaned.
- The condensate drain pipe is checked for blockages and leaks.
- Diagnostic warnings on the LCD display are monitored.
- The wall fixing and the support stand are checked for stability.

The two models share the same body; the difference lies in capacity and current. Sirocco² 5M removes 5.5 litres of moisture per hour, 5T 5.7 litres. Power input is 2580 W on the 5M and 2810 W on the 5T. Nominal current is 11.8 A on the 5M and 4.8 A on the 5T. Both measure 1410 x 835 x 307 mm and weigh 95 kg.

The power input of Sirocco² ranges from 1210 W to 2810 W depending on the model. The 2M draws 1210 W, the 3M 2120 W, the 5M 2580 W and the 5T 2810 W. These figures do not include the consumption of the electric heater option. If a heater is fitted, an additional 2 kW to 4.5 kW is drawn.

It does, but this requires a heating option fitted to the body. The electric heater option is 2 kW on the 2M, 3 kW on the 3M and 4.5 kW on the 5M and 5T. The hot water coil delivers 7.1-11.1 kW with 90-70 °C water and 2.2-3.7 kW with 40-50 °C water. Neither option takes up additional space.

The sound pressure of Sirocco² measured at 1 m ranges from 44 to 51 dB(A) depending on the model. The quietest model is the 2M, measured at 47-44 dB(A) at 1 m. The fan is a two-speed centrifugal type and has a quiet mode. Anti-vibration mounts and a solid mounting base reduce noise.

For through-the-wall installation, the unit is placed in the adjacent plant room and takes in and returns air through an opening in the wall. Only the inlet and outlet grilles are visible in the pool hall. With free-discharge installation, the unit stands in the hall, either wall-mounted or on a stand. In both installations the unit is fixed to the wall.

The dehumidification function operates with ambient air between +10 and +40 °C. The air heating function alone is used between +5 and +40 °C. The reading is the air temperature of the hall or plant room where the unit is installed. The refrigerant is R410A, and its charge ranges from 0.93 to 1.65 kg depending on the model.
