The PVC Pool Ball Valve is a PVC ball valve that opens and closes a line in pool pipework and isolates the pump or filter from the line. Çilek Havuz supplies PVC Ball Valve through quotes and as part of its projects. Its nine models come in sizes of Ø20-110 mm; Ø20-40 mm are pressure class PN16, Ø50-110 mm PN10. The ball seat is HDPE and the O-rings are EPDM. The valve shuts off flow in both directions.

Users and applications
The PVC Pool Ball Valve is used in pool pipework to open and close a line and to isolate one line from another. When a valve is fitted on both the suction and discharge lines of the pump, the pump or filter can be removed without draining the pool. The size is chosen to match the pipe diameter: Ø20-40 mm models are class PN16, Ø50 mm and larger models PN10.

Installation and compatible equipment
The valve is chosen in the same Ø size as the pipe diameter and fitted at the start of the line to be shut off. The valve is joined to the pipe with PVC solvent cement; the valve is not turned until the cement has cured. For the pump, a valve is fitted on both the suction and discharge lines; a Ø50 mm model suits the D50 line of Sena, and a Ø63 mm model the D63 line of Verdon ES. On an acid dosing line, an acid valve with a PTFE seat is used instead of this valve.
- The pipe diameter of the line is determined and a valve of the same Ø size is chosen.
- The position of the valve on the pump suction and discharge lines is determined.
- The valve is joined to the pipe with PVC solvent cement.
- The valve is not turned until the cement has cured.

Maintenance checkpoints
Maintenance of the PVC Pool Ball Valve consists of checking that the handle turns freely and that the connections stay dry. Sealing is provided by the EPDM O-rings; if a leak is seen, the connections and O-rings are checked. As the valve is joined to the pipe with PVC solvent cement, the joints are also monitored for leaks. The handle turns to the open and closed positions without force.

+90 216 475 39 37The valve is chosen in the same Ø size as the diameter of the pipe line. The nine models come in sizes of Ø20, 25, 32, 40, 50, 63, 75, 90 and 110 mm. A Ø63 mm valve is fitted to a Ø63 mm pipe. On the pump line, the size is determined by the diameter of the pump's suction and discharge connections.

The difference is the pressure class. The Ø20, 25, 32 and 40 mm models are class PN16, the Ø50, 63, 75, 90 and 110 mm models class PN10. The class is fixed with the size and is not chosen separately. Which PN is required follows automatically from the pipe diameter the valve is fitted to.

The valve is chosen in the same size as the pump's connection diameter. As Sena has a D50 connection, a Ø50 mm valve suits it; a Ø63 mm valve suits the D63 models of Verdon ES and a Ø75 mm valve its D75 model. Matching the size ensures the connection is made leak-tight. When a valve is fitted on both the suction and discharge lines, the pump can be removed without draining the pool.

The ball valve opens or closes the line and does one job. The Multiport Valve changes the path of the water in a sand filter with six positions: filter, backwash, rinse, waste, recirculate and closed. The PVC ball valve is chosen to shut off a line, the Multiport Valve to manage a filter.

The body is PVC, the ball seat HDPE and the sealing O-rings EPDM. This material combination is the same on all nine sizes. The HDPE seat and EPDM O-rings keep the ball leak-tight in lines that are in constant contact with pool water. The handle sits on top of the valve body and closes the line. The choice of material does not change with size.

It is not used there. On an acid dosing line, an acid valve with a PTFE seat is chosen. The PVC Pool Ball Valve, with its HDPE ball seat, is specified for pool water lines. If the line carries acid from a dosing pump, the valve should be chosen with a seat material suited to the liquid in the line. Using a separate valve for acid keeps the line protected.

Bidirectional means the valve can shut off flow in both directions. For this reason the valve can be fitted on either the suction or the discharge line of the pump. When a valve is fitted before and after the pump, the pump or filter can be removed without draining the pool. The valve only opens or closes the line and does not divert water to another line.
