The Filter Pressure Gauge Panel brings the pressure gauge and air bleed valve together on one panel so that the pressure in the filtration line can be read at a glance. As the filter becomes dirty, the pressure rises; the needle shows this increase and indicates that it is time to backwash. The panel is suitable for commercial pool installations and comes with two scale options.

Installation and compatible equipment
The panel is connected at the point in the filtration line where the pressure is to be read, and the air bleed valve comes with the panel. The scale is chosen by the operating pressure of the line: 3 kg/cm² or 6 kg/cm². On first start-up, the bleed valve is opened, the air remaining in the filter is released, and the valve is closed when water comes out of it.

Maintenance checkpoints
Maintenance of the panel consists of regularly monitoring the needle readings. The pressure read when the filter is clean is noted as the starting value. When the reading rises clearly above this value, the filter is backwashed. The bleed valve is kept in the closed position set at first start-up; if the needle sticks or readings are inconsistent, the panel is checked.

Reading is easier when the operating pressure falls around the middle of the scale. The choice is made by looking at the pressure of the line where the panel will be fitted. Both models come with the same bleed valve and weigh 1 kg; the only difference is the gauge scale.

The Aster Sand Filter works at a maximum pressure of 2.5 kg/cm² and Cantabric at 2.5 bar. The maximum pressure of the filter is the basis of the choice. This value stays within the 3 kg/cm² scale, and even the maximum pressure can be read on it. The 6 kg/cm² scale is chosen for installations where the line pressure may exceed the 3 kg/cm² scale.

Yes, the air bleed valve is included with the panel and is not bought separately. The bleed valve is used to release air trapped in the filter. On first start-up, it is kept open until water comes out; the air escapes, and the valve is closed when water appears. The bleed valve is supplied on the same panel as the pressure gauge; the two parts are brought together at a single connection point.

The pressure read when the filter is clean is noted as the starting value. When the needle rises clearly above this value, it is time to backwash. As the filter becomes dirty, water passes through the media less easily and the pressure rises. After backwashing, the needle returns to a reading close to the starting value.

The pressure gauge panel only shows the pressure and does not act on the filter. The Automatic Multiport Valve for Pool Filters changes position based on the reading from its digital pressure sensor. With the Manual Multiport Valve, the person reading the needle decides when to backwash; the panel provides that reading.
