Chosen for villa pools where no electric cable is wanted in the pool and floor cleaning is tied to filtration hours. The cleaner moves only while the filter pump is running. No separate timer, battery or charging is needed. Active brushing loosens dust stuck to the lining. The loosened debris passes through the hose to the pool's filter.

Installation and compatible equipment
The Zodiac MX10 Hydraulic Pool Cleaner connects to the skimmer or vacuum point with a special locking hose. The package includes an adaptor, an elbow, a flow regulating valve for the cleaner, a flow protection valve for the skimmer and an in-floor valve sleeve. The hose is set up one section longer than the distance between the connection point and the farthest corner of the pool.
- The filter pump is stopped and the skimmer basket is cleaned.
- The hose sections are joined, then filled with water to purge the air.
- The flow protection valve is fitted to the skimmer and the hose end to the valve.
- The cleaner is released into the water and the pump is started.
- The flow regulating valve is adjusted so that the cleaner moves at a steady speed.

Maintenance checkpoints
As the cleaner sends debris to the pool's filter, the filter and skimmer basket are checked more often. Tracks and brushes are inspected for build-up of hair and leaves. A coiled hose is laid out on flat ground and left to straighten. For winterising, the cleaner is detached from the hose, rinsed in fresh water and stored in the shade.

Water passing through the hose turns the turbines in the body and drives the tracks. As the cleaner scans the floor and walls it picks up debris, which is carried through the hose to the pool's filter. No electric cable, battery or charging station is needed.

If the filter pump gives enough suction, no separate pump is needed. The Zodiac MX10 Hydraulic Pool Cleaner connects to the skimmer and moves as long as the pump runs. A tiled pool calls for a more powerful filter pump. Pump power is checked before installation; with weak suction the cleaner slows down and gets stuck in corners.

The difference is the active brushing on the Zodiac MX10 Hydraulic Pool Cleaner. Both models work in pools up to 12 x 6 m and weigh 3.2 kg. The active brushes loosen dust stuck to the lining. If the debris is mostly loose leaves and sand, the Zodiac MX8 Hydraulic Pool Cleaner without brushes is chosen.

The hose length is set by adding one section to the distance between the skimmer and the farthest corner of the pool. A short hose stops the cleaner from reaching the far corner.
