Users and applications
The Zodiac MX8 is chosen for pools larger than 10 x 5 m and no larger than 12 x 6 m. Pool size and pump suction decide the choice. The cleaner needs no electric line and moves only while the filtration pump is running. This is why it is used in villa and residential complex pools where filtration runs regularly every day. It has no active brush; debris is lifted from the floor by suction.

Installation and compatible equipment
The box contains a locking hose, an adaptor, an elbow, a flow regulating valve on the cleaner and a flow protection valve for the skimmer. The hose length is found by adding 1 m to the distance between the skimmer and the farthest point of the pool. Sections beyond this length are left out of the line. The hose is not fitted to the skimmer until it has been submerged and purged of air.

Maintenance checkpoints
The Zodiac MX8 does not hold debris itself; it sends it to the pump strainer and the pool filter. This is why filter pressure is monitored more often on days when the cleaner runs. When pressure rises, a backwash is done. An air leak at the hose locks reduces suction. Tracks and the teeth of the suction inlet are checked for wear.

+90 216 475 39 37Pools up to 12 x 6 m are cleaned with the Zodiac MX8. The 12 locking hose sections of 1 m supplied in the box are joined until they reach from the skimmer to the farthest point. If the pool is 10 x 5 m or smaller, the lighter Zodiac MX6 Hydraulic Pool Cleaner does the same job.

The Zodiac MX8 is for larger pools than the MX6: it has a 12 x 6 m limit and 2 turbines. The MX6 works in pools up to 10 x 5 m with a single turbine. The Zodiac MX10 Hydraulic Pool Cleaner has the same pool size limit as the MX8 and weighs 3.2 kg; in addition, it brushes actively.

The Zodiac MX8 is used in an overflow pool with a vacuum point. The cleaner connects to the skimmer or to this vacuum point in the pool wall. In an overflow pool with no vacuum point, there is nowhere to fit the hose. In that case an electric pool robot that works independently of the pump is chosen.

The hose length is found by adding 1 m to the distance between the skimmer and the farthest point of the pool. The Zodiac MX8 box contains 12 locking hose sections of 1 m. If the hose is too short, the cleaner does not reach the far corner. If it is too long, it coils over itself and the cleaner circles in the same area.

The Zodiac MX8 does not hold debris in a separate basket; it sends it directly to the pump strainer and the pool filter. This is why filter pressure rises faster on days when the cleaner runs. In a pool with leaves, the Cyclonic Leaf Canister is fitted between the hose and the skimmer so that large debris does not reach the filter.

The Zodiac MX8 is used in a tiled pool, but the pump choice changes. On a tiled surface, stronger pump suction is needed for the cleaner to move steadily. Pump power is checked together with skimmer suction before installation. If suction is weak, the cleaner slows down and gets stuck in corners.

The MX8 travels 8 m per minute. This speed is the same for the Zodiac MX6, MX8 and MX10. The MX8 has 2 turbines and is for pools up to 12 x 6 m. The cleaner moves on the pump's suction; if suction is weak or there is air in the hose, the cleaner slows down.
