Users and applications
Intended for pool owners whose filtration system runs regularly and who do not want to set aside an electric line and budget for a robot. The pump and connection decide the choice: the pool must have a skimmer or vacuum point, and the pump must provide enough suction to pull the cleaner. The cleaner moves around on its own as long as the pump runs; no separate timer is needed.

Installation and compatible equipment
The Zodiac MX6 comes with a locking hose, an adaptor, an elbow, a flow regulating valve on the cleaner and a flow protection valve for the skimmer. The hose length is found by adding one section to the distance between the skimmer and the farthest point of the pool. The hose is filled with water before it is fitted in the pool. The flow regulating valve is set to suit the speed of the cleaner.

- The flow protection valve is fitted to the skimmer or vacuum point connection.
- The hose is submerged to purge all the air inside it.
- The hose is connected to the skimmer and the cleaner is released into the pool.
- The pump is started and the speed is set with the flow regulating valve.

Maintenance checkpoints
The collected debris builds up in the pump strainer; the strainer basket is checked often. When filter pressure rises a backwash is done, otherwise the cleaner slows down. The hose connections must not let air in. In a pool with a heavy leaf load, the Cyclonic Leaf Canister is fitted between the hose and the skimmer.

+90 216 475 39 37No, the Zodiac MX6 uses no electricity or cable. The cleaner moves on the suction created by the filtration pump through the skimmer or vacuum point. Debris goes through the hose to the pump and is held in the pump strainer and the pool filter. This is why the cleaner only cleans while the pump is running.

The flow protection valve is fitted into the skimmer opening and the hose is connected to this valve. Before it is fitted, the hose is submerged to purge the air inside; if air remains, the pump loses suction. The hose length is adjusted by adding sections so that it reaches from the skimmer to the farthest corner of the pool. Finally, the pump is started and the speed is set.

The Zodiac MX6 is for pools up to 10 x 5 m, has a single turbine and weighs 2.5 kg. The Zodiac MX8 Hydraulic Pool Cleaner and Zodiac MX10 Hydraulic Pool Cleaner are chosen for pools up to 12 x 6 m and both weigh 3.2 kg. Active brushing is found only on the MX10. If the pool is larger than 10 x 5 m, the MX8 or MX10 is chosen.

If no electric line is wanted and filtration runs regularly, a hydraulic cleaner is chosen. The Zodiac MX6 sends debris to the pump's filter, so the filter is backwashed more often. A pool robot collects debris in its own basket and works independently of the pump. For a 9 x 4 m pool, the corded RE 4200 Voyager is one option.

The most common cause is air left in the hose or a full pump strainer. The strainer basket is emptied, the sand filter pressure is checked and a backwash is done if needed. The hose connections are checked for air leaks. If the problem continues, the flow regulating valve on the cleaner is adjusted again.

Yes, but leaves fill the pump strainer quickly. For this reason the Cyclonic Leaf Canister is fitted between the hose and the skimmer. The leaf canister collects large debris in its own basket before it reaches the pump. How full it is can be seen through the transparent basket, which is emptied separately; the strainer basket then fills less often.

The Zodiac MX6 suction inlet is 25 cm wide. The suction inlet of the Zodiac MX8 and MX10 is 36 cm. The narrower inlet matches the MX6 being chosen for pools up to 10 x 5 m. The cleaner has a single turbine, weighs 2.5 kg and, like the other two models, moves at 8 m/min.
