PAR56 Pool Light Models, definition and selection criteria
A PAR56 pool light is an underwater projector that fits into the niche in the pool wall and runs on 12 V AC. This page covers five products: the LumiPlus Essential PAR56 projector that fits an existing 230 mm niche, the LumiPlus PAR56 2.0 and Plug&Play LED bulbs that go inside an old projector, the complete projector kit supplied with its niche for new pools, and the halogen PAR56 series. White and warm white LED models deliver 1485 lm at 14.5 W, RGB models 1100 lm at 22 W; the Plug&Play bulb delivers 2000 lm at 34.5 W. The halogen PAR56 bulb is 300 W. The first value to check is the apparent power, because the transformer is sized by the total VA of the connected lamps.

+90 216 475 39 37Yes. LumiPlus Essential PAR56 fits an existing 230 mm PAR56 niche, while the LumiPlus PAR56 2.0 and Plug&Play bulbs go inside an existing PAR56 projector. Like the halogen PAR56, all of them run on 12 V AC. A transformer that powers a 300 W halogen lamp is well above the 45 VA drawn by the Plug&Play bulb.

The complete projector kit supplies the projector together with its niche and is intended for a new pool or a niche replacement.

White and warm white models deliver 1485 lm at 14.5 W and are energy class E. RGB models deliver 1100 lm at 22 W and change colour and effect; they are energy class G. White is chosen for clear visibility in the swimming area, warm white for a tone that matches garden lighting, and RGB for a coloured scene.

Standard RGB models are controlled with a push button on the housing. The RGB RC1100 models work with a remote when the RC1100 remote control and Range Extender are used together. The Plug&Play bulb is controlled with the 74399 Plug&Play remote control and needs no extra cable to the control panel.

In a newly built pool, the complete projector kit that matches the pool type is used. The concrete pool kit includes the niche, and the liner pool kit includes the niche together with the cable conduit. In the halogen series there is a projector with a white or stainless steel frame for concrete pools and one with a white frame for liner pools. In a pool with an existing niche, replacing the projector or bulb is enough.
