Pool designs from our projects

The pool photos on this page come from projects Çilek Havuz completed. We grouped them by design: overflow (infinity), prefabricated, pool and spa together, and classic villa pools. Follow the link under any image to open the project, and ask us about the same design for your own plot.

Project photos come from Çilek Havuz's own work, with the location and type of build under each image. The large images between sections are design visuals.

Overflow (infinity) pools

The overflow edge, the balance tank and the retaining work on a sloping plot are covered on our infinity pool construction page.

Prefabricated pools

These photos show finished prefabricated pool examples. Shell and panel options are in our ready-made pool systems category, and installation on site is on the prefabricated pool construction page.

Pool and spa together

A hot tub, sauna or steam room next to the pool needs its own circulation and its own heating. The details are on our hot tub and spa pool page.

Classic villa pools

We put the skimmer pool and the overflow pool side by side in overflow pool or skimmer pool.

01Choosing a design

How to choose a pool design

Start with the plot, not the photo. The same design looks different on a slope, in a narrow garden or next to a holiday let, so we read the site first and then pick from the groups on this page. The differences between the types are explained in our guide to types of swimming pools. These five questions settle most decisions:

  1. Slope and view

A plot that falls towards the sea or a valley suits an overflow pool with an infinity edge on the low side. The slope that makes other designs expensive is exactly what this one needs.

See in the gallery: Overflow (infinity) pools
  2. Time and access on site

If the build window is short or the garden is tight, a prefabricated panel pool goes in faster than a concrete shell and needs no crane on site.

See in the gallery: Prefabricated pools
  3. Who swims, and when

Families who want warm water in spring and autumn often pair the pool with a hot tub or a sauna. Each needs its own circulation, so plan them together from the start.

  4. Flat garden, steady budget

A rectangular skimmer pool with good paving and lighting around it gives the most use for the money in a flat garden.

  5. Your time away

If you live abroad or let the house, choose a layout that is simple to cover, heat and look after while you are not there. A cover and a plant room close to the pool make both jobs easier.

02Sizes and depth

Sizes and depth

Most residential pools we build fall into the series sizes of 3x6, 4x8 and 5x10 metres, and the depth we build most often is a constant 1.40 to 1.50 metres. These sizes fit typical gardens and match ready-made covers, gratings and ladders, which keeps the cost of the extras down. Going outside them is possible; the cover and the grating then become custom-made items.

The space around the pool matters as much as the pool. Leave a walkway on every side, and keep a dry spot for the plant room close to the pool edge. An overflow or infinity edge adds to the outer dimensions because of the channel and the balance tank, so choose the system before you fix the size. The full table is in our guide to pool sizes and depths.

03Materials and finishes

Materials and finishes

The shell sets the shape; the finish sets how the pool looks and how it ages. These are the finishes you will see in the photos above, compared in more detail in pool finishing options.

Glass mosaic
Small glass tiles that follow curves and overflow edges well and keep their colour in strong sun. Most of the infinity pools on this page are finished this way.
Ceramic pool tiles
Larger tiles for rectangular skimmer pools. Fewer joints, a calm surface and a simple repair if a single tile is ever damaged.
Liner
A reinforced membrane used inside prefabricated panel pools. After years of use it is renewed as a whole, not tile by tile.
Coping and deck
The stone or deck around the water is what you touch every day. It has to be slip-resistant when wet and stay cool enough to walk on in summer.

04Care

Care while you are away

The design you choose sets the care it needs. A small pool heats quickly, uses fewer chemicals and takes less time; an overflow pool cleans its own surface, but the balance tank and the level control need checking. For owners who spend part of the year abroad, a fixed routine matters more than the equipment. The seasonal routine is in four-season pool care.

  • In season: water balance, filter backwash and skimmer baskets checked on a fixed day each week.
  • Off season: the pool is not drained. It is winterised full of water and covered, which protects both the shell and the finish.
  • Before guests arrive: a visit a few days ahead so the water is clear and warm on the day. Our pool maintenance and service team can take this over for you.

05Price

What drives the price

Two pools that look alike in a photo can differ a lot in price. The difference comes from a handful of items, and a good quote lists each one on its own line.

  1. Size and depth. They set the water volume, and the volume sets the pump, the filter and the heating. Excavation and a plant room are needed even for a small pool, so halving the size does not halve the budget.

  2. Circulation system. An overflow or infinity edge needs a balance tank, a channel and a larger pump; a skimmer pool needs none of these.

  3. Ground and access. Rock, groundwater, a steep slope or a narrow road to the site add excavation and retaining work.

  4. Finish. Glass mosaic, ceramic tile, liner and the stone around the pool are priced very differently.

  5. Equipment. Heat pump, cover, lighting and automatic dosing are each a separate line.

  6. Surroundings. Deck, landscaping and a shaded seating area are often left out of a first quote.

Each line is explained in our pool construction cost guide. For a price on your own plot, send us the details through the quote form.

Book a free site survey

An overflow pool with an infinity edge on the low side uses the slope instead of fighting it. The water spills over that edge into a catch channel and a balance tank below. It needs a soil survey, a retaining structure and room for the tank in the plant room, so the decision follows the site visit.

Çilek Havuz · Pool designs from our projects

In a skimmer pool the water sits 10 to 15 cm below the coping and surface water is drawn off through openings in the wall, with no extra tank. An infinity edge keeps the water level with one edge and needs a balance tank and a larger pump, so it costs more to build and to run.

Çilek Havuz · Pool designs from our projects

An outdoor pool is used seasonally, but a heat pump and a cover extend the season well into spring and autumn. For swimming all year, an indoor pool is the answer. There the ventilation and dehumidification matter as much as the pool, because moist air wears down the building.

Send us the plot location, a site plan or a few photos and the size you have in mind through the quote form. The first review can be done from drawings and photos; a site survey follows before the final offer. During the build we share progress photos and video with you.

Size and depth, the circulation system, the ground and access to the site, the finish and the equipment list. Overflow edges, retaining walls and heating add the most. We price each item on its own line, so you can compare quotes from different builders item by item.
