Users and applications
The return inlet is chosen as the return point that delivers water from the filter back to the pool. The choice is set by the pool type and the connection method: Ø50 solvent weld, 2 inch threaded or Ø63/Ø50 models in concrete pools, Ø50 solvent weld in liner pools, and the 2 inch threaded model in liner and prefabricated pools. The directional eyeball sets the direction of flow.

Installation and compatible equipment
The return inlet is fitted to the end of the return line in the pool wall. The Ø50 solvent weld models are also designed to replace an existing nozzle: a small hole is made at the start of the pipe, cleaned, and the inlet is bonded from the inside. Threaded models are connected to the wall with a 2 inch male thread; on the threaded model for liner and prefabricated pools, the connection is also threaded on the inside, and the gasket and screws are in the pack.
- The concrete or liner model is chosen according to the pool type.
- The connection method, solvent weld or threaded, is determined by the line and the wall.
- The inlet is fitted to the return line and fixed in the pool wall.
- The directional eyeball is turned towards the direction in which water is to be distributed in the pool.

Maintenance checkpoints
Maintenance of the return inlet consists of checking the directional eyeball and its surroundings. It is checked that the eyeball turns freely and directs the flow as required. The body and flange should not be cracked, and no leak should be visible at the connection point. A damaged inlet is replaced; when replacing it, a model with the same connection method is chosen.

In liner and prefabricated pools, the model with a 2 inch male thread and Ø50 female thread is used. The connection method should not be chosen before the pool type is known.

Solvent weld models are fitted by bonding to a Ø50 or Ø63 pipe. Threaded models are connected to the wall with a 2 inch male thread. The code of the solvent weld model is 76493, and the code of the threaded concrete model is 00295. Both connection methods are available for concrete pools; for liner pools there is the Ø50 solvent weld model, and for liner and prefabricated pools the 2 inch threaded model.

The Ø63/Ø50 model is for concrete pools. It has a Ø63 PN6 connection on the outer wall and a Ø50 solvent weld connection on the inner wall. The code of the white model is 00298; beige, light grey and anthracite grey are also available. If the pipe diameter in the concrete wall is Ø63, this model is chosen; if it is Ø50, the Ø50 solvent weld model is chosen.

The return inlet delivers water back to the pool, while the main drain draws water from the pool floor. The return inlet sits at the end of the return line, and the Norm Pool Main Drain at the end of the suction line. On the return inlet, the directional eyeball sets the flow; on the main drain, the grille handles suction. Both are made of ABS and are chosen according to the pool type.

The return inlet comes in white, beige, grey and anthracite. The codes of the concrete Ø50 solvent weld model are white 76493, beige 76493CL090, grey 76493CL129 and anthracite 76493CL144. On the other models, the same CL090, CL129 and CL144 suffixes in the codes indicate the colours. All 21 models are listed in the technical data sheet.

The flow is set with the directional eyeball in the centre of the inlet. The eyeball is spherical, and turning it in the required direction determines how water is distributed in the pool. The eyeball comes with a series of pre-marked diameters, and the required diameter is cut during installation; the diameter determines the flow passing through the inlet. Free movement of the eyeball is checked during maintenance.

The basic type is a white ABS model with a Ø50 solvent weld connection for concrete pools, and its code is 24413. It is a model of simple design, and white is the only colour option. Concrete pools that need beige, grey or anthracite look to the Ø50 solvent weld, 2 inch threaded or Ø63/Ø50 models. There is no basic type for liner pools.
