The Norm Pool Main Drain is an ABS main drain fitted at the inlet of the suction line that draws water from the pool floor. Çilek Havuz supplies Norm Main Drain through quotes and as part of its projects. It is offered in 10 models, in separate groups for concrete and liner pools, with an anti-vortex or flat grate. It has a 2 inch side connection and a 1½ inch bottom connection; the recommended maximum suction velocity is 0.5 m/s.

Users and applications
The Norm main drain is chosen as the inlet point that takes water from the pool floor into the pump suction line. There are separate models for concrete and liner pools. The grate is anti-vortex or flat; colour options include white, beige, grey and anthracite. The choice is made by the pool lining type, the preferred grate and the pool colour.

Installation and compatible equipment
The main drain is fitted to the suction connection in the pool floor; the suction line runs from here to the pump. The drain has a 2 inch side connection and a 1½ inch bottom connection. As the recommended maximum suction velocity is 0.5 m/s, the suction line diameter is determined by the pump flow. The concrete and liner models are for different pool linings and are not interchangeable.

- The grate type and colour are determined.
- The drain is fitted to the suction connection in the floor using its 2 inch side or 1½ inch bottom connection.
- The suction line is checked against the pump flow so that it does not exceed the 0.5 m/s limit.

Maintenance checkpoints
The grate of the drain and its surroundings are checked for leaves, hair and sediment during pool cleaning. If the grate becomes blocked, suction is reduced and the pump is put under strain. The ABS body and grate must be unbroken, free of cracks and securely in place. A damaged grate is replaced; the pump is not run with a missing or broken suction grate.

The concrete group is for concrete pools and the liner group for liner pools, and their codes differ: for the white anti-vortex version, concrete 56379 and liner 56382. Both groups are made of UV-resistant ABS. The group that matches the pool lining is chosen; the concrete model is not used in a liner pool, nor the liner model in a concrete pool.

Both grate types are offered in the same drain group; the choice depends on the preference for the pool. The anti-vortex grate is designed to prevent the formation of a vortex, while the flat grate is a classic flat cover. The codes differ by grate: concrete white anti-vortex 56379, concrete white flat grate 56378. The drains are used in line with local standards against suction risks.

The recommended maximum suction velocity is 0.5 m/s. This value applies to all ABS main drains. The suction line diameter is determined from the pump flow so that this velocity is not exceeded. To prevent suction risks, the drains are used in line with local and international standards; the velocity limit is therefore not exceeded.

The side connection is 2 inch and the bottom connection 1½ inch. Both connection types are on the same body, and the drain is made of UV-resistant ABS. The connection size determines how the drain is connected to the suction line. When the line diameter is chosen, the suction velocity limit of 0.5 m/s is maintained.

It comes in white, beige, grey and anthracite. The white model has the plain code; the suffix CL090 is added for beige, CL129 for grey and CL144 for anthracite. For example, the code for concrete anti-vortex in anthracite is 56379CL144. The colour changes only the appearance; the grate type and pool lining choice stay the same.

The place where water is drawn differs: the main drain draws water from the pool floor, while the skimmer draws it from the surface. The main drain is the suction point on the floor; the Norm 17.5 L Pool Skimmer collects leaves and debris on the surface. Both connect to the pump suction line, and for both the line diameter is chosen by the pump flow.

The code for concrete anti-vortex is 56379, concrete flat grate 56378, liner anti-vortex 56382 and liner flat grate 56380. The white model has the plain code. The suffix CL090 is added for beige, CL129 for grey and CL144 for anthracite. For example, the code for concrete anti-vortex in anthracite is 56379CL144.
