Cantabric Pool Sand Filter, Injection Moulded Sand Filter.
Cantabric is a sand filter with an injection moulded body that passes pool water through a sand bed. Çilek Havuz supplies Cantabric through quotes and as part of its projects. Its five models range from Ø400 to 900 mm in diameter, 6 to 30 m³/h in flow rate and 48 to 240 m³ in pool volume. The multiport valve is included in the pack on all models except the Ø900 mm model. The connection varies between 1½", 2" and 2½".

Users and applications
Cantabric is chosen for the sand filtration line of pools with a volume of 48-240 m³. The model is set by the pool volume: Ø400 mm is for pools of up to 48 m³ and Ø900 mm for pools of up to 240 m³. The sand capacity of the five models ranges from 60 to 550 kg. The smallest model weighs 7 kg.

Installation and compatible equipment
Cantabric is installed between the pump discharge line and the return line to the pool. On the Ø400-750 mm models, the multiport valve is included in the pack. On the Ø900 mm model, the valve is not included and the 2½" model is chosen from the Multiport Valve product. The body is filled with the sand quantity specified for the model. The pressure gauge and bleed valves are on the body.

// 04 · Maintenance
Maintenance checkpoints
Maintenance of Cantabric is based on monitoring the pressure on the gauge. If the pressure rises noticeably, the bed is washed in the backwash position of the valve and the process is completed with a rinse. The water and air bleed valves are on the body. The sand is renewed when it loses its filtering capacity. The connections and body are checked externally for leaks.
- The pressure gauge reading is monitored; a rise indicates that a backwash is needed.
- The valve position is changed only after the pump has been stopped.
- The sand is renewed when filtration declines.
- The union and body connections are checked for leaks.

+90 216 475 39 37The model is chosen by the pool volume and the pump flow rate. Ø400 mm is for 6 m³/h and 48 m³, Ø500 mm for 9 m³/h and 72 m³, Ø600 mm for 14 m³/h and 112 m³, Ø750 mm for 21 m³/h and 168 m³, and Ø900 mm for 30 m³/h and 240 m³. The volumes are based on 8 hours of filtration.

The sand quantity ranges from 60 to 550 kg depending on the model. The Ø400 mm model takes 60 kg, the Ø500 mm model 100 kg, the Ø600 mm model 150 kg, the Ø750 mm model 300 kg and the Ø900 mm model 550 kg of sand. These values are the fill specification of each model and increase with diameter.

On the Ø400, Ø500, Ø600 and Ø750 mm models, the multiport valve is included in the pack. The Ø900 mm model is sold without a valve, and as its connection is 2½", the 2½" model is chosen from the Multiport Valve product. Filtration, backwash and rinse are carried out with the valve positions. On models with the valve in the pack, no separate valve is bought.

Cantabric has an injection moulded body and offers five models from Ø400 to 900 mm. EUROpe Pro has a laminated fibreglass body and offers eight models, Pro and Pro Long, from Ø500 to 900 mm. Cantabric delivers 6-30 m³/h and EUROpe Pro 9.5-30 m³/h; the valve of EUROpe Pro is not included in the pack.

The difference lies in the diameter range and sand capacity. Cantabric offers five models from Ø400 to 900 mm, Aster six models from Ø350 to 900 mm. The largest Cantabric model takes 550 kg of sand, the largest Aster 500 kg. Cantabric Ø900 mm is sold without a valve; Aster Ø900 mm comes with or without a valve.

Cantabric can be filled with active glass media instead of sand. Grade 1 and Grade 3 glass media are compatible with this filter and are found under the Active Glass Media product. The fill quantity depends on the diameter and is lower than the sand quantity for the same diameter. The operating pressure limit is 2.5 bar.

The body is made of injection moulded plastic with thermal welding. The maximum operating pressure is 2.5 bar. The body carries a pressure gauge and water and air bleed valves. Weight is 7, 12, 14, 24 and 34 kg depending on the model; the sand filling is not included in this figure.
