Hydrospin is a centrifugal pre-filter that separates coarse dirt in pool water before it reaches the main filter. Çilek Havuz supplies Hydrospin through quotes and as part of its projects. There are two models: Hydrospin provides a flow rate of 5-30 m³/h, a Ø63 connection and 40 µm fineness; Hydrospin Compact provides 3-16.5 m³/h, a Ø50 connection and 60 µm fineness. The maximum operating pressure is 2.5 bar.

Users and applications
Hydrospin is chosen as a pre-filter that separates coarse dirt from the water before it goes to the main filter. The model is set by the flow rate and pipe diameter of the line: Hydrospin covers 5-30 m³/h with a Ø63 connection, and Hydrospin Compact 3-16.5 m³/h with a Ø50 connection. Hydrospin works with 24 hydrocyclones and is cleaned without switching off the pump.

Installation and compatible equipment
Hydrospin is fitted in the pipeline between the pump and the main filter. The pipe diameter determines the choice of model: Hydrospin for a Ø63 line, Hydrospin Compact for a Ø50 line. A floor support is included with both models; a wall support is included with Hydrospin Compact and is a separate accessory for Hydrospin. The line pressure must not exceed 2.5 bar.
- The flow rate and pipe diameter of the line are determined, and the model is chosen accordingly.
- The pre-filter is placed in the line between the pump and the main filter.
- The inlet and outlet connections are made to suit the pipe diameter.
- The line pressure is checked to make sure it does not exceed 2.5 bar.
// 04 · Maintenance
Maintenance checkpoints
Hydrospin is cleaned without needing to switch off the pump. Cleaning uses 5 litres of water for Hydrospin and 15 litres for Hydrospin Compact. The cleaning connection is 1 inch on Hydrospin and 3/4 inch on Hydrospin Compact. During maintenance, the cleaning connection and the other connections are checked for leaks.
- Cleaning is done through the cleaning connection without switching off the pump.
- 5 litres of cleaning water are used for Hydrospin and 15 litres for Hydrospin Compact.
- The lid and connections are checked for leaks.

Hydrospin retains solid waste down to 40 µm and Hydrospin Compact down to 60 µm. This reduces the dirt that reaches the main filter. The pre-filter does not replace the main filter; it is a separate part fitted between the pump and the filter.

The difference lies in the flow rate, connection diameter and fineness. Hydrospin provides 5-30 m³/h, a Ø63 connection and 40 µm fineness, and weighs 7.8 kg. Hydrospin Compact provides 3-16.5 m³/h, a Ø50 connection and 60 µm fineness, and weighs 4 kg. The maximum operating pressure is 2.5 bar on both models.

Hydrospin works in the 5-30 m³/h range and Hydrospin Compact in the 3-16.5 m³/h range. The required flow rate is found by dividing the pool volume by the turnover time; for residential pools the turnover time is 4-6 hours. If the calculated flow rate does not fall within a model's range, the next model up is chosen. The flow rate of the pre-filter should be enough to meet the flow rate of the main filter.

The Ø63 connection is found on Hydrospin and the Ø50 connection on Hydrospin Compact. The choice of model therefore depends on the diameter of the pipeline. If the line is Ø63, Hydrospin is fitted; if it is Ø50, Hydrospin Compact. Even if the flow rate range suits, a model whose connection diameter does not match the line is not chosen; the choice is made on flow rate and diameter together.

Cleaning is done through the cleaning connection on the body; the connection is 1 inch on Hydrospin and 3/4 inch on Hydrospin Compact. The collected solid particles gather in the sedimentation, purge and thickening chambers and do not pass to the main filter.
