VIRON Pool Cartridge Filter, High-Flow Cartridge Filter.
VIRON is a high-flow cartridge filter that cleans pool water by passing it through cartridge elements. Çilek Havuz supplies VIRON through quotes and as part of its projects. There are two models: the QL 420 has 39 m² and the QL 540 50 m² of filtration area. Both have a flow rate of 30 m³/h. The body is made by plastic injection moulding, the lid opens and closes easily, and weight is between 35 and 40 kg.

Users and applications
VIRON is chosen for filtration lines that need high flow and a large filtering surface. Both models have a flow rate of 30 m³/h; the choice is set by the filtration area. The QL 420 offers 39 m² and the QL 540 50 m². The large surface lengthens the interval between cleaning and replacing the cartridge.

// 03 · Installation and compatibility
Installation and compatible equipment
VIRON is fitted between the pump discharge line and the return line to the pool. A pressure gauge and connection fittings are supplied in the package, and there is also a connection for draining water. The lid closes with an easy open-and-close system. No sand filling is needed; the cartridges in the body do the filtering.
- The filter is placed on a level, load-bearing surface.
- The pump line is connected to the inlet connection and the pool return to the outlet connection.
- The pressure gauge and connection fittings are mounted with the parts supplied in the package.
- The lid is closed, the pump is started and the initial pressure is noted.
// 04 · Maintenance
Maintenance checkpoints
Maintaining VIRON means washing the cartridges and replacing them when necessary. If the pressure on the gauge rises noticeably above the initial value, the pump is stopped, the lid is opened and the cartridges are removed and washed. The large filter surface makes this less frequent. The drain connection is used to empty the body.
- The gauge pressure is monitored; a rise shows that cleaning is needed.
- The lid is not opened until the pump is stopped.
- The cartridges are removed, washed and seated back in place.
- Worn cartridges are replaced with the spare cartridge for the model.

VIRON delivers 30 m³/h on both models. The QL 420 and QL 540 work at the same flow; the difference comes from the filtering surface: 39 and 50 m². The pump flow should not exceed 30 m³/h. The pump is chosen for this flow and monitored with the pressure gauge on the filter body.

A larger surface lengthens the interval between cleaning and replacing the cartridge. The 50 m² area of the VIRON QL 540 is greater than the 39 m² area of the QL 420. As both models have a flow rate of 30 m³/h, the QL 540 filters the same flow over a larger surface. With the flow the same, the choice depends on how rarely cartridge cleaning is to be done.

The spare cartridge is chosen according to the filter model. Separate spare cartridges are available for the QL 420 filter (76340) and the QL 540 filter (76341). A rise in pressure on the gauge shows that the cartridge needs cleaning. The cartridges are removed and washed, and when worn they are replaced with the spare cartridge for their own model. Cartridges for another model should not be ordered.

VIRON works at a single flow of 30 m³/h with 39 and 50 m² of area. ClariSave works with four models across 10.1-25.2 m³/h, with 7.8-14 m² of area, and filters down to 20 µm. VIRON is chosen for high flow and a large surface, ClariSave for smaller flow steps.

VIRON works at 30 m³/h with a 39-50 m² surface. Nanofiber works at 10, 14 and 18 m³/h with a 4.5-6 m² surface and filters down to 5-8 µm. Nanofiber comes in automatic and manual versions. VIRON is chosen for higher flow, Nanofiber for fine filtration and smaller volumes.

The QL 420 weighs 35 kg and the QL 540 40 kg. Handling and positioning are planned around this weight. The package includes a pressure gauge, connection fittings and a water drain connection. The 5 kg difference between the QL 420 and QL 540 is small. In the plant room, space is left above the body so that the lid can be opened.
