Zodiac Heat Line, In-Line Heat Exchanger.
Zodiac Heat Line is a heat exchanger with titanium tubes that heats pool water with hot water from a combi boiler or boiler, and is fitted in-line without a bypass. Çilek Havuz supplies Heat Line through quotes and as part of its projects. It comes in 20 kW, 40 kW and 70 kW capacities. Each capacity is offered as Bare, Plus without pump and Plus with pump. The casing is Noryl polyamide, and the pool connection is PVC Ø63 or Ø50.

Users and applications
Zodiac Heat Line is chosen for villa and detached house pools that have a combi boiler or boiler and no room to install a bypass in the plant room. The heat exchanger is fitted directly on the filter outlet line, and all the pool water passes through it. If there is no pump in the boiler circuit, the Plus with pump model is chosen; if there is a pump, the Plus without pump or Bare model is chosen.

Installation and compatible equipment
Heat Line is fitted in-line on the return line after the pool filter, without a bypass. The pool side is connected with PVC Ø63 or Ø50, and the boiler side with a Ø26/34 threaded connection. Plus models are supplied with 230 V single-phase power. The heat exchanger is used with a solar hot water tank; it is not connected directly to a solar panel.
- The heat exchanger is fixed to a wall near the filter outlet through its mounting holes.
- The filter return line is cut and the heat exchanger is added to the line with PVC Ø63 or Ø50.
- The boiler flow and return lines are connected to the Ø26/34 threaded ports.
- On the Plus model, the 230 V supply is connected and the thermostat is set.
- The first heating is carried out with filtration running, and the connections are monitored for leaks.
// 04 · Maintenance
Maintenance checkpoints
Maintenance on Heat Line consists of monitoring the titanium tubes and connection fittings. As all the pool water passes through the heat exchanger, keeping the filter clean prevents the tubes from fouling. Before winter, the pool side is drained. On the Plus with pump model, it is checked at the start of the season that the circulation pump runs quietly and steadily.
- The filter is backwashed regularly so that dirt is not carried to the tubes.
- The pool circuit is drained before winter.
- Fitting gaskets are checked for leaks.
- On the Plus model, the thermostat and pump are tested at the start of the season.

+90 216 475 39 37Heat Line Bare consists of the heat exchanger with titanium tubes and a flow sensor. The Plus without pump model adds regulation, that is, temperature control by thermostat. In addition, the Plus with pump model carries a class A low-consumption circulation pump for the boiler circuit. If there is no pump in the boiler circuit, Plus with pump is chosen.

Heat Line is connected without a bypass: it is fitted directly on the filter return line and all the pool water passes through it. The pool flow rate is 10 m³/h for Heat Line 20, 15 m³/h for Heat Line 40 and 20 m³/h for Heat Line 70. The flow rate of the filtration pump is checked against these values.

The capacity is selected according to the output the combi boiler can allocate to the pool. With boiler water entering at 90°C, Heat Line 20, 40 and 70 transfer 20 kW, 40 kW and 70 kW to the pool. With boiler water entering at 60°C, the same models give 8.5 kW, 17 kW and 30 kW; the split between home heating and the pool is planned accordingly.

A pool can be heated with a solar hot water tank. The boiler side of Heat Line is connected to the hot water tank of the solar system and transfers the heat in the tank to the pool water; it is not connected directly to a solar panel. If the tank water is at a low temperature, the output falls: Heat Line 40 gives 17 kW at a 60°C inlet and 8 kW at a 45°C inlet.

Both heat exchangers have titanium tubes and work with boiler water. Zodiac Heat Line has a plastic casing, is fitted in-line without a bypass, carries a flow sensor and, with the Plus options, takes a thermostat and pump. Zodiac Waterheat EVO has a titanium body, is installed with a bypass connection, contains no sensor or thermostat and goes up to 450 kW.

The pressure loss on the pool side is 500 mmWC for Heat Line 20, 800 mmWC for Heat Line 40 and 1000 mmWC for Heat Line 70. The pressure loss of the primary circuit is 150, 200 and 300 mmWC. As Heat Line is fitted without a bypass, all the pool water passes through the heat exchanger; it is checked that the filtration pump provides enough pressure to cover this loss.

The casing is injection-moulded Noryl polyamide, and the heat transfer tubes are titanium. The product has a 2-year warranty. The unit withstands a maximum pressure of 2 bar and a water temperature of 90°C. The weight is 3 kg for Heat Line 20 Bare and 6.5 kg for the Heat Line 20 Plus with pump model; the weight increases as a pump is added.
