Automatic Pool Cover Models, definition and selection criteria
An automatic pool cover is a covering system that opens and closes the pool surface by motor or by hand with a cover wound onto a shaft. This page covers two installation types. With an underwater cover, the cover and shaft sit below the water level in a section at one end of the pool separated by a wall or PVC partition; Roussillon is of this type and runs on a dry motor, a tubular motor or an IP68 water-level motor. With an above-ground cover, the shaft sits at the pool edge; Octeo, Sveltea and the solar-powered Bellasun belong to this group, while Manual Sveltea is retracted by hand.

On Manual Sveltea, the roll diameter including the shaft and slats is 350 mm at 4 x 8 m, 380 mm at 4 x 10 m and 410 mm at 5 x 10 m. This dimension is used when setting aside space at the pool edge.

They are housed in a section separated from the main pool by a wall or PVC partition. With an above-ground cover, the shaft is installed at the pool edge and no partition is needed in the pool structure. The choice depends on the construction stage of the pool, the free space at the edge and the preferred appearance.

Yes, it can. On Roussillon, the tubular motor is mounted in pools that have already been built, and the cover section can be separated with a PVC partition sold separately. Above-ground covers are installed at the pool edge; Bellasun needs no electrical connection, so it is placed without running cables.

In this case, the solar-powered Bellasun or the hand-retracted Manual Sveltea is used. The Bellasun motor runs on a battery charged by the solar panel, and the battery performs 20 openings and closings on one charge. Keeping the panel out of shade is taken into account during installation.

In the above-ground range, Octeo has the largest capacity; it fits pools with an inner size of up to 7.5 x 17 m. Bellasun is for pools up to 6.03 x 12 m and Sveltea for pools up to 5 x 10 m. In the underwater type, the largest standard size of Roussillon is 6 x 12 m.

The difference is where the motor is located. The dry motor sits in a separate dry compartment below the water level, and the tubular motor inside the winding shaft. The water-level motor has IP68 protection and sits under the cover, above the water level; it is for new pools and existing pools of suitable width.

Octeo comes in White/White, White/Anthracite, Anthracite/White and Anthracite/Anthracite combinations. Sveltea is available in White/White, White/Anthracite, Grey/White and Turquoise/White; Manual Sveltea is also made in four colours. We can choose the colour that suits the pool surroundings together at the quotation stage.
