AstralPool Freepool² is a public pool disinfection system that combines salt electrolysis, medium pressure UV and pH control with CO2 in a single arrangement. Çilek Havuz supplies Freepool² through quotes and as part of its projects. The single model produces 180 g of chlorine per hour and carries 3 x 90 W UV lamps. It works with AstralPool AP PR-207 for measurement and regulation and is monitored remotely with Fluidra Connect.

Users and applications
Designed for heavily used public pools such as hotel, sports centre, municipal and residential complex pools. Disinfection, chloramine reduction and pH adjustment are carried out by a single system rather than separate units. Freepool² brings all three together in one arrangement and reduces the need to store liquid acid on site.

// 03 · Installation and compatibility
Installation and compatible equipment
The system is engineered around the filtration flow rate and pool volume of the facility and connected with flanges to the return line after the filter. The control panel is placed in the plant room. As pH is adjusted with a CO2 injector, a CO2 cylinder or tank supply is installed. Measurement and regulation are carried out through AstralPool AP PR-207.
- The design is prepared from the pool volume and filtration flow rate.
- The reactor is placed at the filter outlet with flanged connections.
- The control panel is installed in the plant room and the electrical connection is made.
- The CO2 supply and injector are connected to the line.
- The AP PR-207 sensors are fitted and the system is commissioned.

Maintenance checkpoints
In a public pool, water values are monitored continuously on the AP PR-207 display. The operating hours of the UV lamps are tracked, and a lamp at the end of its life is replaced. The electrolysis cell is checked periodically for scale. The fill level of the CO2 cylinder is tracked; the cylinder is replaced before it runs empty.

For villa-scale private pools, residential salt chlorinators such as Zodiac eXPERT or Zodiac Ei²iQ are considered.

Freepool² carries out salt electrolysis, medium pressure UV and pH control with CO2 together. Electrolysis produces the chlorine that disinfects the water from salt. The 3 x 90 W UV lamps reduce combined chloramines. CO2 injection lowers pH and keeps it in balance without storing acid.

Both combine salt electrolysis with UV. AstralPool Neolysis S uses low pressure UV and comes in models from 50 g/h to 300 g/h. AstralPool Freepool² uses medium pressure UV, produces 180 g/h as a single model and adjusts pH with CO2 injection.

The controller recommended with Freepool² is the AstralPool AP PR-207 pH/Cl2 PPM. The controller measures pH and free chlorine in ppm and manages the output of the system according to this measurement. The controller is not included in the Freepool² package; it is purchased as a separate product. The AP PR-207 TRI version provides simultaneous control of up to 3 units in the same facility.

When CO2 is injected into the water, it dissolves and lowers the pH. Freepool² adjusts pH in this way; no liquid acid container is kept in the plant room. The injection rate is set according to the pH measurement of the controller. For the facility, only the CO2 cylinder or tank is renewed regularly.
