Pool pH Reducer and pH Increaser, definition and selection criteria
Pool pH reducer and increaser are regulating chemicals used to bring the water's pH into the 7.2 to 7.6 range. This page covers granular pH reducer, granular pH increaser, powder pH increaser and powder alkalinity increaser. Granular pH reducer lowers a pH above 7.6 and comes in 1.5 kg and 5 kg packs. Granular pH increaser raises a pH below 7.2 and comes in 1 kg and 5 kg packs. With the granular products, 150 g per 10 m³ of water changes the pH by 0.2 units. Powder pH increaser comes in a 5 kg pack and alkalinity increaser in a 6 kg pack; alkalinity increaser raises alkalinity that has fallen below 125 ppm, and both powder products are suitable for commercial pools.

With granular pH reducer and granular pH increaser, 150 g per 10 m³ of water changes the pH by 0.2 units. For a larger volume the quantity increases in proportion, and the pH is measured again after each application.

+90 216 475 39 37Granular pH reducer is used when the pH rises above 7.6. If the pH is between 7.2 and 7.6 the product is not applied; if it is below 7.2, pH increaser is needed. The pH is measured before and after application.

When the pH falls below 7.2, granular pH increaser or powder pH increaser is used. The granular product comes in 1 and 5 kg packs and the powder product in a 5 kg pack. If the pH is between 7.2 and 7.6, no increaser is needed.

150 g of granules per 10 m³ of water changes the pH by 0.2 units; this value is the same for reducer and increaser. The quantity increases in proportion as the pool volume grows and decreases in a small pool. If the target has not been reached, the dose is recalculated for the remaining difference.

No. The two products work in opposite directions, and when added together their effects cancel each other out. Only one of them is chosen, based on the measurement result.
