AstralPool Neolysis S, UV Electrolysis System.

AstralPool Neolysis S is a hybrid disinfection system that combines salt electrolysis with a low-pressure UV lamp in a single system. Çilek Havuz supplies Neolysis S through quotes and as part of its projects. Five models produce 50 to 300 g/h of chlorine; UV power ranges from 75 W to 4 x 90 W. With standard, pH/ORP (EXT-1) and pH/PPM (EXT-2) versions, there are 15 models.

Users and applications

AstralPool Neolysis S is chosen for indoor and heavily used public pools with a high chloramine load. Indoor swimming pools, hotel spa pools and municipal facilities fall into this group. The UV reactor breaks down chloramines, and the electrolysis cell leaves residual free chlorine in the pool. Capacity is chosen by the hourly chlorine demand of the facility.

// 03 · Installation and compatibility

Installation and compatible equipment

The UV reactor and electrolysis cell are connected in series to the return line after the filter. Both units are powered and managed from the same control panel. The panel is mounted on the wall next to the reactor; the reactor is installed vertically. In the EXT-1 or EXT-2 version, the sensors are placed in the line. A separate dosing pump such as AstralPool Acqua Dos is needed for pH correction.

  1. The UV reactor is connected vertically to the return line after the filter.
  2. The electrolysis cell is installed in series with the reactor on the same line.
  3. The control panel is fixed to the wall and the lamp and cell cables are connected.
  4. The EXT-1 or EXT-2 sensors are fitted at the measuring point.
  5. Salt is added to the pool and the concentration is brought to 5-6 g/L.

// 04 · Maintenance

Maintenance checkpoints

Maintenance has two parts: the UV lamp and the electrode. Lamp life is 13,000 hours and electrode life is 12,000-15,000 hours. The quartz sleeve is cleaned or renewed when the lamp is replaced. The salt concentration is kept within 5-6 g/L. Replacement lamps, quartz sleeves and electrodes are on the Neolysis Spare Parts page.

  • The lamp's operating hours are monitored and the lamp is renewed at 13,000 hours.
  • The quartz sleeve is checked for scale and dirt.
  • The electrode plates are visually checked for scale build-up.
  • The EXT-1 or EXT-2 sensors are calibrated regularly.

In Neolysis S, the water passes through the UV reactor and the electrolysis cell on the same return line. UV radiation breaks down the chloramines in the water. The electrolysis cell produces chlorine from salt and leaves residual free chlorine in the pool. Both processes are managed from the same control panel, and the salt concentration is kept at 5-6 g/L.

Yes; in an indoor pool, the source of chlorine odour is mostly combined chlorine in the water, that is, chloramines. The UV reactor in Neolysis S breaks down chloramines, while the electrolysis cell continues to produce free chlorine. For this reason it is preferred in indoor and heavily used pools. The ventilation of the pool hall is also checked separately.

Each capacity is paired with a fixed UV power: 50 g/h comes with a 75 W lamp and 80 g/h with a 90 W lamp. The 120 g/h model has 2 x 90 W lamps. The 180 g/h model has 3 x 90 W lamps and the 300 g/h model 4 x 90 W lamps. The model is chosen by the chlorine demand and circulation flow rate of the facility.

EXT-1 measures pH and ORP; it manages chlorine production by the redox value of the water. EXT-2 measures pH and free chlorine (ppm); it adjusts production directly to the amount of chlorine. EXT-2 is chosen for public pools where free chlorine is monitored as a figure. The standard version has no measurement, and an external controller is connected.

The UV lamp life is 13,000 hours; electrode life is 12,000-15,000 hours. When the lamp life runs out, the radiation output drops and the lamp is renewed. Neolysis S is for public pools; it produces 50 to 300 g/h of chlorine and works with 5-6 g/L of salt. Neolysis Connect is aimed at smaller pools; it produces 12, 24 and 32 g/h and suits 50-150 m³ pools. Neolysis Connect has Wi-Fi and app connectivity. Both systems combine UV with electrolysis.

The difference lies in UV, salt concentration and capacity range. Neolysis S combines electrolysis with low-pressure UV and produces 50 to 300 g/h of chlorine at 5-6 g/L of salt. Pro-Chlore Salt has no UV, works with 5-12 g/L of salt and goes up to 600 g/h. Electrode life is 12,000-15,000 hours on both.
