AstralPool Nature Salt, Low Salt Chlorinator.

AstralPool Nature Salt is a salt electrolysis unit with the TWINCELL system that produces chlorine at a low salt concentration of 1.5-3 g/L. Çilek Havuz supplies Nature Salt through quotes and as part of its projects. The recommended salt concentration is 2-2.5 g/L. Five models produce 50 to 300 g/h of chlorine, and electrode life is 12,000-15,000 hours. With standard, pH/ORP (EXT-1) and pH/PPM (EXT-2) versions, 15 models are offered.

Users and applications

AstralPool Nature Salt is chosen for public pools where the salt concentration is to be kept low. Hotel and municipal pools fall into this group. The recommended 2-2.5 g/L is less than half of the 5-6 g/L recommended for standard electrolysis. This reduces the amount of salt added to the pool.

Installation and compatible equipment

The cell is connected with flanges to the return line after the filter, and the control panel is mounted on the wall near the cell. As the system weighs between 80 and 175 kg, the transport route and mounting surface are planned in advance. Salt is added to a target of 2-2.5 g/L; because the concentration is low, the salt calculation is made carefully against the pool volume. A separate dosing pump is installed for pH correction.

  1. The transport route and mounting surface are prepared for the weight of the model.
  2. The cell is connected with flanges to the return line after the filter.
  3. The panel is fixed to the wall and the cell cables are connected.
  4. The EXT-1 or EXT-2 sensors are fitted at the measuring point.
  5. Salt is added to the pool and the concentration is brought to 2-2.5 g/L.

// 04 · Maintenance

Maintenance checkpoints

Salt measurement is at the centre of maintenance. The concentration is not allowed to fall below 1.5 g/L. Electrode life is 12,000-15,000 hours; when it runs out, the electrode is replaced with a Salt Chlorinator Replacement Electrode. The EXT-1 or EXT-2 sensors are calibrated regularly. The cell plates are visually checked for scale.

  • The salt concentration is measured often and kept within 2-2.5 g/L.
  • Salt is measured again after backwashing and adding water.
  • The cell plates are visually checked for scale build-up.
  • When the electrode life runs out, a Salt Chlorinator Replacement Electrode is fitted.

Nature Salt works at a salt concentration of 1.5-3 g/L, and the recommended concentration is 2-2.5 g/L. This is less than half of the 5-6 g/L recommended for standard salt electrolysis systems. The salt needed is calculated by multiplying the pool volume by the target concentration. The salt is added and fully dissolved before the unit is started.

Low salt electrolysis is chosen for facilities where the salt concentration is to be kept low. Nature Salt works with 1.5-3 g/L, which is lower than the 5-6 g/L recommended for standard systems. As less salt is added to the pool, annual salt consumption also falls. The recommended concentration is 2-2.5 g/L, and the cell uses the TWINCELL system.

Nature Salt works with 1.5-3 g/L of salt and Pro-Chlore Salt with 5-12 g/L. Nature Salt produces up to 300 g/h of chlorine and Pro-Chlore Salt up to 600 g/h. Nature Salt produces at low salt with the TWINCELL system. In both series, electrode life is 12,000-15,000 hours, and EXT-1 and EXT-2 versions are available.

Capacity is selected by the volume of the pool, the bathing load and whether the pool is indoor or outdoor. There are five options: 50, 80, 120, 180 and 300 g/h. The standard models weigh between 80 and 170 kg. The floor of the plant room and the transport route are planned for this weight.

Yes, every capacity is also offered in two controlled versions. The EXT-1 version measures pH and ORP and manages chlorine production by the redox value. The EXT-2 version measures pH and free chlorine (ppm) and adjusts production to the amount of chlorine. In a facility that has a separate controller, the standard version is chosen.

Electrode life is 12,000-15,000 hours. When the life runs out, the cell stays in place and only the electrode is renewed. The electrode for each capacity is listed on the Salt Chlorinator Replacement Electrodes page. The salt concentration is kept within 2-2.5 g/L and is not allowed to fall below 1.5 g/L. When ordering an electrode, the capacity and version of the unit are also stated.

The difference lies in salt concentration and UV. Nature Salt works with 1.5-3 g/L of salt and offers low salt electrolysis. Neolysis S needs 5-6 g/L of salt and combines electrolysis with low-pressure UV. Both produce 50 to 300 g/h of chlorine. On Neolysis S, UV power ranges from 75 W to 4 x 90 W.
