pH and Chlorine Control
Zodiac Chlor Expert, ORP Chlorine Regulator.
Zodiac Chlor Expert is a wall-mounted automatic chlorine regulator that measures the redox value of pool water in mV and doses liquid chlorine. Çilek Havuz supplies Chlor Expert through quotes and as part of its projects. It is used for pools of up to 150 m³, with a measuring range of 0-1000 mV. The factory setting is ORP 650 mV and its peristaltic pump delivers 1.5 l/h. The display works in 6 languages.

// 02 · Use
Users and applications
Intended for villa and residential complex pools disinfected with liquid chlorine rather than salt electrolysis. Chlor Expert doses liquid chlorine only and does not manage the output of a salt electrolysis unit. As the redox measurement depends on the pH value, pH must be kept stable; for this reason the unit is usually installed together with Zodiac pH Expert.
- Pools of up to 150 m³ disinfected with liquid chlorine
- Holiday home pools where manual chlorine dosing is irregular
- Automatic dosing set-ups installed together with Zodiac pH Expert
- Residential complex pools where bathing load varies through the day

Installation and compatible equipment
The regulator is hung on the wall in the plant room and wired so that it is energised together with the filter pump. The ORP sensor is fitted on the DN50 or DN63 pipe after the filter. The suction hose is placed in the liquid chlorine container or in the AstralPool Polyethylene Chemical Tank. The injection point is placed after the sensor and separate from the pH injection.
- The regulator is hung on the wall and the supply is connected to the filter pump line.
- The ORP sensor is placed on the pipe at the filter outlet.
- The suction hose is placed in the liquid chlorine container or tank.
- The chlorine injection is fitted at a point separate from the pH injection.
- The target value is set around 650 mV according to the pool water measurement.
// 04 · Maintenance
Maintenance checkpoints
The ORP sensor is checked at the start of the season and cleaned when necessary. The value shown by the unit is compared from time to time with the Digital Pool pH and Redox Meter or a test kit. The liquid chlorine container is kept cool and in the shade, as chlorine loses strength while it is stored. The peristaltic hose is replaced when it hardens.
- The ORP reading is compared with a test kit from time to time.
- The liquid chlorine container is stored cool and in the shade.
- The peristaltic hose is checked for hardening and cracks.
- In winter, the sensor is not left to dry out.

+90 216 475 39 37No, Zodiac Chlor Expert is only for pools dosed with liquid chlorine. In a salt electrolysis pool, chlorine is produced in the unit's cell and output is managed from the unit's own panel. For a salt pool where redox control is wanted, the eXPERT pH/ORP model is chosen; Chlor Expert is installed on a pool working with liquid chlorine.
Çilek Havuz Corporate
ORP is the redox value of the water and shows disinfection strength in mV. Zodiac Chlor Expert comes from the factory with a 650 mV target and doses liquid chlorine when the value falls below it. The measuring range is 0-1000 mV. The target value is set according to the chlorine level of the pool water measured with a test kit.
Çilek Havuz Corporate
The two units come with the same body, display and 1.5 l/h pump; the difference is in the value measured and the liquid dosed. Chlor Expert measures the redox value in mV and doses liquid chlorine. Zodiac pH Expert measures pH and doses acid or alkali. As the redox measurement changes with pH, the two units are installed together.
Çilek Havuz Corporate
Chlor Expert holds the chlorine level by a redox target; the factory target is 650 mV. The chlorine value in the pool is measured separately with a test kit according to use. Once the target has been matched to the test kit, the unit holds the chlorine level at this value; if the pH value changes, the matching is repeated.
Çilek Havuz Corporate
Liquid chlorine is drawn from the container by the peristaltic pump of a regulator such as Chlor Expert and injected into the return line. The pump runs when the redox value falls below the target and stops when the value rises. Chlorine is not added by hand; only the container is renewed regularly and the cleanliness and calibration of the sensor are checked.
Çilek Havuz Corporate
Zodiac Chlor Expert comes with overdose protection. If the value does not rise although the pump has run for a long time, it stops dosing and shows a warning on the display. This usually indicates an empty container, a blocked hose or a dirty sensor. After the warning, the sensor and hose are checked.
Çilek Havuz Corporate
Zodiac Chlor Expert is specified for a pool volume of 150 m³ and suits DN50 or DN63 pipe. Its pump delivers 1.5 l/h. The water temperature must be within 5-40 °C; the sensor withstands temperatures of 0-60 °C and a flow velocity of up to 2 m/s. The unit's protection class is IP65.
