AstralPool Dual pH EV, pH and ORP Dosing System.
AstralPool Dual pH EV is a control and dosing system that measures pH and ORP in the same casing and doses with two pumps. Çilek Havuz supplies Dual pH EV through quotes and as part of its projects. The measuring range is 0-14 pH and 0-1000 mV. The pool model delivers a flow rate of 1.5 l/h and the spa model 0.4 l/h. The casing is IP65-rated plastic, and a complete installation kit is included in the package.

Users and applications
Dual pH EV is chosen for pools where pH and ORP are to be held automatically from a single panel. The two pumps sit in the same casing without installing separate units, and both values are monitored on the same display. The model is chosen by water volume: Dual pH-EV at 1.5 l/h for a pool, Spa pH-EV at 0.4 l/h for a small spa.

// 03 · Installation and compatibility
Installation and compatible equipment
The casing is mounted on the plant room wall and connected to the line with the complete installation kit. The pH and ORP electrodes are fitted in the pipe after the filter, and the injection points after the electrodes. The remote on-off input is connected to the filter pump with a 230 V line; when the pump stops, dosing also stops. The chemical level inputs are connected to the probes in the containers, and the alarm relay to a warning device.
- The casing is mounted on the wall and the power supply is connected.
- The pH and ORP electrodes are fitted in the pipe at the filter outlet.
- The pump suction hoses are placed separately in the pH corrector and disinfectant containers.
- The two injection points are fitted in the return line after the electrodes.
- The electrodes are calibrated and the pH and ORP target values are entered.

Maintenance checkpoints
The pH and ORP electrodes are calibrated periodically. The tubing of the two peristaltic pumps hardens over time and is replaced when cracks appear. The chemical containers are renewed before they run empty, and the suction hoses are not mixed up. The warning device on the alarm relay is tested regularly. During the winter shutdown, the electrodes are not left to dry out.

The measuring range is 0-14 pH and 0-1000 mV, and both values are monitored on the same display. Two pumps in one casing reduce installation space and wiring.

The difference is in the pump flow rate. Dual pH-EV Basic Control Plus, at 1.5 l/h, is chosen for pools. Spa pH-EV Basic Control Plus, at 0.4 l/h, suits small spas and hot tubs. The measuring range, IP65 casing and installation kit are the same on both models. The lower flow rate limits overdosing in a small volume of water.

AstralPool Control Basic Next controls a single value, pH or ORP; two units are needed for both values. AstralPool Dual pH EV measures both values in one casing and doses with two pumps. If only pH or only ORP is to be automated, Control Basic Next is chosen; if both are wanted together, Dual pH EV is chosen.

ORP shows the oxidising power of the water in mV and changes with the effectiveness of free chlorine. Dual pH EV measures this value in the range 0-1000 mV and doses disinfectant when it falls below the target. As chlorine becomes less effective as pH rises, the ORP reading is interpreted together with the pH value.

Dual pH EV has a remote on-off input that works at 230 V. When this input is connected to the filter pump line, dosing stops when the pump stops. With the input off, the display stays on, so calibration is carried out with circulation off and no chemical being dosed. The display shows the pH and ORP values throughout calibration.

Dual pH EV has a chemical level input and an alarm relay. The level probe in the container reports that the chemical is running low, and the alarm relay activates a connected warning device. This prevents the pump from pumping air from an empty container and the values from drifting unnoticed. The container is renewed before it runs empty.
