AstralPool Control Basic Next is a controller and dosing pump that measures the pH or ORP value and doses a single chemical automatically. Çilek Havuz supplies Control Basic Next through quotes and as part of its projects. There are 1.5 l/h and 3.0 l/h models for pools and a 0.4 l/h model for spas. The pH measuring range is 0-14 pH. The body is IP65-rated ABS; the electrode and installation kit are included in the package according to the model.

Users and applications
Control Basic Next is chosen for pools where one value is to be held automatically and the installation is to be completed with a single box. The choice is made with three questions: which value, which flow rate, pool or spa. The pH model doses pH corrector, the ORP model doses disinfectant. For a higher chemical requirement, the 3.0 l/h model is chosen.

Installation and compatible equipment
The pump is hung on the wall in the plant room. The electrode supplied in the package is fitted with the sensor holder on the pipe after the filter. The suction tube is connected to the chemical container and the delivery tube to the injection point after the electrode. The remote on/off input is connected to the filter pump with a 230 V line, so dosing stops when circulation stops. Installation ends with calibration using the standard solutions supplied in the kit.

Maintenance checkpoints
The electrode is calibrated periodically with the standard solutions supplied in the kit. The peristaltic pump hose hardens over time; it is replaced when cracks or leaks appear. The chemical container is replaced before it runs empty; a pump running on an empty container delivers air. The sensor holder is cleaned to prevent blockage. During the winter shutdown, the electrode is not left to dry out.

The ORP model measures with a redox electrode and doses disinfectant. If both values are wanted automatically, one pH and one ORP model are installed together. For spas, the same distinction exists in the 0.4 l/h models.

The flow rate is chosen by the daily chemical requirement. On Control Basic Next, the pH and ORP models come with 1.5 l/h and 3.0 l/h flow. In a pool with a high chemical requirement, the 3.0 l/h model is chosen. The spa models form a separate group with 0.4 l/h flow and are intended for a small water volume.

The spa models, at 0.4 l/h, are intended for small-volume spas and hot tubs. The Control Basic Next Spa 0.4 L/h model is chosen for pH control. The Control Basic Next Spa ORP 0.4 L/h model provides redox control. In a small water volume, a low flow limits overdosing and sudden jumps in the value.

AstralPool Control Basic Next controls a single value and has a single pump. AstralPool Dual pH EV measures the pH and ORP values in the same housing and doses with two pumps. For one value only, Control Basic Next is sufficient. If pH and chlorine are wanted together, Dual pH EV or two Control Basic Next units are installed.

Yes. Control Basic Next comes with a pH or redox electrode according to the model. The installation kit also contains a sensor holder, standard solutions, suction and delivery tubes and connection fittings. In this respect it differs from AstralPool Optima Next, whose electrode is sold separately. No additional electrode kit is needed for installation.

On Control Basic Next, the remote on/off input works at 230 V and keeps the display on. If this input is connected to the filter pump line, dosing stops when circulation stops. The display stays on during calibration and programming. The input is connected during installation according to the pump's power line.
