Pool pH and Chlorine Controllers, definition and selection criteria
A pool pH controller is a unit that measures the pH value of the water continuously with a sensor and, when the value moves away from the target, doses acid or alkaline liquid with a peristaltic pump; models measuring ORP or free chlorine do the same for the disinfectant. This page includes regulation modules fitted to a salt electrolysis unit, wall-mounted standalone regulators and dosing systems, external controllers that manage the electrolysis system according to the measurement, and control systems that measure more than one value on a single panel. The ORP value shows the effectiveness of the disinfectant in mV, while ppm measurement gives the amount of free chlorine directly. Because the ORP value changes with pH, the pH is corrected first.

Control Basic Next comes in 1.5 and 3.0 l/h models for pools and a 0.4 l/h model for spas. On Dual pH EV the pool model delivers 1.5 and the spa model 0.4 l/h. pH Link and Dual Link have a flow rate of 1.7 l/h, pH Expert and Chlor Expert 1.5 l/h; the Control Connect All-In-One package includes 2 x 1.5 l/h pumps.

When the value moves away from the target, a peristaltic pump doses the pH correcting liquid. pH Expert works with acid or alkaline, selected at installation, while pH Link and Dual Link work with acid only. The sensors of these models work in water at 0-60 °C.

ORP shows the effectiveness of the disinfectant in mV, and its value changes with pH. Free chlorine ppm measurement gives the amount of chlorine in the water directly. For a pool where the chlorine level is to be monitored as a number, models measuring ppm such as Control Connect pH / PPM, Poolwatch or AP PR-207 are chosen.

pH Link and Dual Link are fitted as modules to the electrolysis units of the eXO iQ family. Dual Link adjusts chlorine output according to the ORP value. The AP PR-200 Series and AP PR-207 are external controllers and manage the chlorine output of the electrolysis system according to the measurement. The electrolysis units themselves are on the Salt Chlorinators page.

A pool that runs on liquid chlorine needs two separate dosing lines for pH and chlorine. pH Expert doses acid or alkaline according to the pH value, Chlor Expert doses liquid chlorine according to the ORP value, and the two units are installed together. Dual pH EV measures both values in a single housing and doses with two pumps.

Yes, Control Connect All-In-One supplies these components in a single package. It includes pH and ORP glass sensors, 2 peristaltic pumps of 1.5 l/h, a 4-output relay panel and suction lances with level sensors. The unit connects over Wi-Fi; a flow sensor and water temperature reading are standard. The chemical tank is not included in the package and is purchased separately.
