Elite Connect CellGuard® is a salt chlorinator that fits the return line after the filter and produces chlorine from salt water. Çilek Havuz supplies Elite Connect CellGuard through quotes and as part of its projects. The cell is self-cleaning, has a life of 18,000 hours and is fitted vertically or horizontally. The standard series has 12, 24, 32 and 42 g/h models and the LS series 12, 24 and 32 g/h models. Capacity ranges from 50 to 200 m³.

Users and applications
Elite Connect CellGuard® is chosen for saltwater pools where cell replacement should be infrequent. Cell life is 18,000 hours, which matters in pools where filtration runs for long hours. As the cell can also be fitted horizontally, it suits plant rooms with horizontal pipework. The model is determined by pool volume and the salt concentration to be maintained.

Installation and compatible equipment
The cell is fitted in the return line after the filter, and after the heater if there is one, on 63 or 50 mm pipe. The cell operates in a vertical or horizontal position. As the cell cable is 2 m long, the control unit is mounted on the wall close to the cell. If the pump and other equipment are to be managed from the unit, the relay panel from the Relay Box and Earthing Anode product is added.
- The cell is placed vertically or horizontally in the return line after the filter.
- The control unit is fixed to the wall no more than 2 m from the cell.
- Salt is added to the pool; at least 5 g/L is maintained on the standard model and at least 1 g/L on the LS model.
- The unit is added to the mobile app via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth.
- The polarity reversal interval is set to 2, 3, 4 or 7 hours.

Maintenance checkpoints
The cell dissolves scale on the plates itself by polarity reversal, and the interval is set to 2, 3, 4 or 7 hours. The salt concentration is monitored with the salinity sensor of the unit and verified with a test kit. The gas sensor and flow switch are measuring and safety parts of the unit, and both are checked for cleanliness. The water temperature sensor keeps the unit within its operating range.

The settings that affect cell life are the salt concentration and the polarity reversal interval, which is set to 2, 3, 4 or 7 hours. As the Elite Connect cell has a life of 12,000 hours, CellGuard® makes cell replacement less frequent.

The cell is fitted in both vertical and horizontal positions. The pipe connection is 63 or 50 mm, and the cell measures 21 x 11.5 x 34 cm. Horizontal installation reduces the need for extra elbows in plant rooms where the pipework runs parallel to the floor. As the cable is 2 m long, the unit stays close to the cell.

The difference is the minimum salt concentration at which the unit operates. Standard models need at least 5 g/L of salt, LS models at least 1 g/L. Chlorine output and power are the same in both series: the 12 g/h models draw 138 W, the 24 g/h models 230 W and the 32 g/h models 253 W. There is no 42 g/h model in the LS series.

Both units produce 12-42 g/h of chlorine and are managed with a mobile app. The Elite Connect CellGuard® cell has a life of 18,000 hours and is fitted vertically or horizontally. The Elite Connect cell has a life of 12,000 hours and is fitted vertically. If less frequent cell replacement or horizontal installation is needed, CellGuard® is chosen.

Salt water increases the risk of corrosion on metal parts around the pool. An earthing anode is fitted in the line for the stray currents that form in salt water; the Relay Box and Earthing Anode product has Ø 50 mm and Ø 63 mm models. The LS model operates with at least 1 g/L of salt and the standard model with at least 5 g/L, and the salt concentration is kept close to this lower limit.

The unit operates at water temperatures between 15 °C and 40 °C. When the water falls below 15 °C, the unit is outside its operating range. The water temperature sensor of the unit monitors this value. The temperature sensor, salinity sensor, gas sensor and flow switch are the measuring parts of the unit.

CellGuard® pH 12 is sized for 50 m³, pH 24 for 100 m³, pH 32 for 160 m³ and pH 42 for 200 m³ pools. Their chlorine outputs are 12, 24, 32 and 42 g/h respectively. There is no 42 g/h model in the LS series; LS pH 12, 24 and 32 cover the same volumes. For a pool close to the capacity limit, the next model up is chosen.
