Users and applications
AstralPool Heliox UV LP S.S. is a UV-C system with a stainless body designed for private pools. It is used in pools where the circulation flow rate stays below the value at the selected dose. The model is determined by the pump flow rate and the target radiation dose. UV-C leaves no residual disinfectant in the pool; free chlorine is provided by a salt electrolysis system or chlorine dosing.

Installation and compatible equipment
The reactor is connected to the return line after the filter. The model is chosen so that the line flow rate stays below the value at the selected dose. As the body is 1092 mm high, service space is left along the reactor axis for replacing the lamp and quartz sleeve. The control panel is hung on the wall beside the reactor.
- The target dose is selected and the pump flow rate is compared with the flow rate of the model.
- The reactor is connected to the return line after the filter.
- Service space is left along the reactor axis for lamp replacement.
- The control panel is hung on the wall and the lamp cables are connected.
- When the lamp is running, the ON indicator light on the panel is checked.
// 04 · Maintenance
Maintenance checkpoints
The counter on the panel shows the lamp operating time and the number of on/off cycles; lamp replacement is planned from this value. The quartz sleeve is cleaned periodically, as scale and dirt reduce UV-C transmission. The 90 W UV LP-25 lamp and quartz sleeve are on the Heliox Replacement Lamp/Sleeve page.
- The lamp counter is read regularly and the replacement time is planned.
- The quartz sleeve is removed and cleaned of scale and dirt.
- During lamp replacement, the quartz sleeve is inspected for cracks.
- A lamp whose ON indicator light does not come on is checked at once.

+90 216 475 39 37The flow rate depends on the selected radiation dose. At a dose of 35 mJ/cm², I45 handles 45, I65 65, I85 85 and I95 95 m³/h. At a dose of 60 mJ/cm², the flow rate of the same models falls to 22, 30, 37 and 43 m³/h. The model is chosen so that the pool pump flow rate does not exceed the value at the selected dose.

The dose shows the UV-C energy the water receives in the reactor, and a higher dose requires a lower flow rate. At 60 mJ/cm², the same model handles about half the flow it handles at 35 mJ/cm²: 22 m³/h instead of 45 for I45. Which dose is used as the basis is determined by the disinfection target of the pool.

LP S.S. has a stainless steel body and handles 45 to 95 m³/h in 4 models. LP PE has a polyethylene body; it covers 20 to 327 m³/h in 13 models and gives separate flow rates for seawater. Both series use a 254 nm low pressure lamp. The choice is made by body material and the flow rate required.

The reactor body is 1092 mm high with a diameter of 204 mm. Service space is left along the reactor axis for replacing the lamp and quartz sleeve. The control panel is hung on the wall near the reactor. The direction of the pipe inlet and outlet ports is determined on the layout plan according to the line connection.

The counter on the panel shows the lamp operating time and the number of on/off cycles. The ON indicator light is lit while the lamp is running. No, UV-C disinfects the water only while it passes through the reactor and leaves no residual disinfectant in the pool. Free chlorine in the pool water is still provided by salt electrolysis or chlorine dosing. Heliox UV LP S.S. works together with these systems on the same return line after the filter.

Total power is 270 W on I45, 360 W on I65, 450 W on I85 and 540 W on I95. The UV-C share of this is 90, 120, 150 and 180 W respectively. The lamp configuration is 3, 4, 5 and 6 lamps of 90 W. As power increases, the flow rate at a dose of 35 mJ/cm² rises from 45 m³/h to 95 m³/h.
