pH and Chlorine Control
Zodiac Dual Link, pH and ORP Regulation Module.
Zodiac Dual Link is a regulation module that fits salt chlorinators in the Zodiac eXO iQ family and manages pH and ORP together. Çilek Havuz supplies Dual Link through quotes and as part of its projects. The module measures pH in the range 0.0-12.0 and ORP in the range 100-1000 mV. When pH rises it doses acid with a 1.7 l/h pump, and it adjusts chlorine output according to the ORP value. The factory setting is pH 7.2 and ORP 700 mV.

Users and applications
Zodiac Dual Link is chosen for pools where chlorine output should follow the actual disinfection level of the water rather than a manually selected rate. The ORP sensor measures the redox value of the water; when the value falls, the chlorinator increases output. In pools where the number of bathers and the air temperature change often, this automatic adjustment reduces manual monitoring.

Installation and compatible equipment
The module plugs into the control unit of the compatible chlorinator. The pH and ORP sensors are fitted in the filtration line with the POD kit; the hole is cut with the hole saw supplied in the box. The pump suction hose goes into the acid container and the discharge hose to the injection point. Before first start-up, the pH sensor is calibrated with pH 4 and pH 7 solutions and the ORP sensor with 470 mV solution.
- The module is plugged into the control unit of the chlorinator.
- A hole is cut in the filtration line and the POD kit is fitted.
- The pH and ORP sensors are fitted in the POD kit.
- The suction hose goes into the acid container and the discharge hose is connected to the injection point.
- The pH sensor is calibrated with pH 4 and pH 7 solutions, the ORP sensor with 470 mV solution.

Maintenance checkpoints
Both sensors have glass bodies, and measurement accuracy depends on calibration. At the start of the season, the pH sensor is calibrated with pH 4 and pH 7 solutions and the ORP sensor with 470 mV solution. As the ORP value is affected by pH, the pH is balanced first. In winter the sensors are removed and the POD kit is closed with the winterising plug.

- Free chlorine is measured separately with pool water test strips and kits.
- The acid container is replaced before it runs empty, and the pump is not run dry.

When the value falls below the target, the chlorinator increases chlorine output, and when the target is reached it reduces output. The factory target is ORP 700 mV. The chlorine output rate therefore does not have to be changed by hand to suit pool use.

Zodiac Dual Link comes from the factory with an ORP target of 700 mV, and this value is used as the starting setting for the pool. As the ORP value is affected by the pH of the water, the pH is first brought to the 7.2 target. The measuring range is 100-1000 mV and the accuracy is 10 mV. Free chlorine is measured separately with a test kit.

Zodiac pH Link measures only pH and doses acid; the chlorine output rate is selected manually on the unit. Dual Link adds an ORP sensor to the same pH function and adjusts chlorine output automatically according to the ORP value. Both modules have a 1.7 l/h pump and measure 30.5 x 18.1 x 11.5 cm.

The ORP sensor is calibrated by immersing it in a 470 mV calibration solution. The box contains three each of 470 mV ORP, pH 4 and pH 7 solutions. The pH sensor is calibrated first, followed by the ORP sensor. Calibration is repeated at the start of the season and whenever the reading does not match the test kit.

The compatible units are Zodiac eXO iQ, Zodiac eXO iQ LS and Zodiac Hydroxinator iQ; Dual Link plugs into the control unit of these units. The module is optional and is purchased as a separate product. The unit also runs without the module. The pH and ORP sensors are supplied in the box.
