Zodiac pH Expert, Automatic pH Regulator.
Zodiac pH Expert is a wall-mounted automatic pH regulator that measures the pH of pool water and doses acid or alkali liquid proportionally. Çilek Havuz supplies pH Expert through quotes and as part of its projects. It is used for pools up to 150 m³, and its peristaltic pump delivers 1.5 l/h. The factory setting is pH 7.4. The sensor is fitted to a DN50 or DN63 pipe; the display works in 6 languages.

Users and applications
Intended for villa and residential complex pools where the pH changes often and is corrected by hand. The liquid to be dosed is chosen at installation: acid for a pool where the pH rises, alkali for a pool where it falls. If the salt chlorinator does not dose pH, pH Expert is added alongside it. If chlorine dosing is also to be automatic, it is installed together with Zodiac Chlor Expert.

// 03 · Installation and compatibility
Installation and compatible equipment
The unit is mounted on a wall in the plant room and connected so that it is powered together with the filter pump. The pH sensor is fitted after the filter to a DN50 or DN63 pipe, at a point where the flow velocity does not exceed 2 m/s. The dosing hose draws from the liquid container; the injection point is located after the sensor and after the electrolysis cell.
- The regulator is mounted on the wall and its supply is connected to the filter pump line.
- The pH sensor is fitted to the pipe at the filter outlet.
- The suction hose is placed in the acid or alkali container.
- The injection point is fitted to the return line after the sensor.
- The sensor is calibrated and the target value is checked as pH 7.4.

Maintenance checkpoints
The pH sensor is calibrated at the start of the season and whenever the reading drifts. The peristaltic pump hose hardens over time and is replaced when it cracks. The dosing liquid container is renewed before it runs empty; a pump running on an empty container pumps air. During winter the sensor is not left to dry out.

In a salt electrolysis pool the pH usually rises, so acid dosing is installed. The choice of liquid is made during installation.

The factory target value is pH 7.4; Zodiac pH Expert doses so as to keep the pool at this value. The sensor works in water at 0-60 °C. When the pH is out of balance, the effectiveness of chlorine falls; for this reason the pH is corrected before the chlorine setting, and the chlorine level is checked afterwards.

The two units come with the same body, display and pump; the difference lies in the value they measure and the liquid they dose. pH Expert measures pH and doses acid or alkali. Zodiac Chlor Expert measures the redox value in mV and doses liquid chlorine. In a pool running on liquid chlorine, the two units are installed together.

The difference lies in the dosing liquid, flow rate and setting. Zodiac pH Link doses acid only, its pump delivers 1.7 l/h and its factory setting is pH 7.2. Zodiac pH Expert doses acid or alkali, delivers 1.5 l/h and comes set to pH 7.4. pH Expert is also a standalone regulator with a 6-language display.

Acid and chlorine are not added from the same point or mixed in the same container. In a pH Expert installation, acid injection is placed at a point separate from the chlorine source and after the electrolysis cell. The containers are kept apart and the suction hoses are not mixed up. With manual dosing too, the pH is corrected first and chlorine is added afterwards.

The pH sensor is fitted after the filter, to a DN50 or DN63 pipe, at a point where the flow velocity does not exceed 2 m/s. The sensor works at temperatures between 0 °C and 60 °C. Dosing injection takes place after the sensor, so that the sensor measures the pool water rather than the dosed liquid.
