Zodiac eXPERT is a salt chlorinator fitted on the filter return that disinfects pool water by producing chlorine from salt. Çilek Havuz supplies eXPERT through quotes and as part of its projects. 15 models cover pools from 30 m³ to 180 m³, with chlorine output between 7 g/h and 40 g/h. Each capacity is available in three versions, Standard, pH and pH/ORP; the cell fits DN50 and DN63 pipe.

Users and applications
Designed for villa and residential complex pools switching to saltwater chlorination. The model is chosen by answering two questions: how many m³ the pool holds, and whether pH is also to be kept automatically. For a pool where only chlorine production is wanted, the Standard model is chosen; where pH dosing is also wanted, the pH model; and where the chlorine level is to be managed by redox measurement, the pH/ORP model.

Installation and compatible equipment
The cell is fitted vertically on the return line after the filter and, if there is one, the heater. The control box is hung on the wall and connected to the 220-240 V line so that it runs together with the filter pump. Before the unit is switched on, salt is added to the pool water and the level is brought to 4 g/l.

- The cell is placed vertically on the DN50 or DN63 return line.
- The control box is hung on the wall and the 1.5 m cell cable is connected.
- On pH models, the sensor and dosing tube are fitted to the line.
- The polarity time and output percentage are set on the panel.
// 04 · Maintenance
Maintenance checkpoints
The salt level is measured regularly through the season and topped up before it falls below 3.5 g/l. Polarity reversal reduces scale build-up in the cell; the time is set to 2, 3, 4 or 7 hours. Cell life is 10,000 hours; for a cell at the end of its life, see the Salt Chlorinator Replacement Electrodes page.
- The salt level is kept between 3.5 g/l and 10 g/l at every measurement.
- The cell plates are checked for scale through the clear body.
- On pH models, the sensor is calibrated at the start of the season.
- The unit is switched off when the water temperature falls below 5 °C.

+90 216 475 39 37The model is chosen by pool volume: eXPERT 7 for 30 m³, eXPERT 12 for 50 m³, eXPERT 21 for 100 m³. eXPERT 30 is used in a 140 m³ pool and eXPERT 40 in a 180 m³ pool. If the pool is used often or is in a hot region, the next capacity up is chosen.

The Standard model only produces chlorine from salt; pH is kept separately, by hand or with another unit. The pH model adjusts pH automatically with a 1.5 l/h dosing pump. The pH/ORP model adds redox measurement and manages chlorine output according to a 0-999 mV reading.

The recommended salt level is 4 g/l, that is 4 kg of salt for every cubic metre of pool water. Zodiac eXPERT does not work efficiently below 3.5 g/l, and 10 g/l is the upper limit. Salt is added once; the amount diluted by backwashing, overflow and rain is measured and topped up.

The difference is in capacity, cell and connectivity. Zodiac eXPERT goes up to 180 m³ pools, its cell is fitted vertically and has a life of 10,000 hours. Zodiac Ei²iQ goes up to 110 m³ pools, its cell is horizontal, and Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are built in. For a large pool or where pH/ORP is wanted, eXPERT is chosen.

Yes, when the iQBridge RS Pool Automation Gateway is added, Zodiac eXPERT is monitored and adjusted from the Fluidra Pool app. The gateway does not come with the unit; it is purchased as a separate product. In an installation without the gateway, all settings are made from the LCD display and touch buttons on the control box.

When the cover is closed, the unit is switched to Low mode and output is set between 10 per cent and 90 per cent. After heavy use or rain, Boost mode runs at full capacity for 24 hours. In Normal mode, output continues at the selected percentage as long as the filter pump is running.

The unit is run only while the water temperature is between 5 °C and 40 °C. When the water falls below 5 °C, Zodiac eXPERT is switched off from the panel and no chlorine is produced even if the filter pump is running. If the pool is not used over the winter, the cell is removed from the line, cleaned and stored in a dry, frost-free place.
