AstralPool Optima, Proportional Dosing Pump.
AstralPool Optima is a proportional dosing pump that adjusts the dose according to an external signal. Çilek Havuz supplies Optima through quotes and as part of its projects. It works with a 4-20 mA analogue signal or with a 1:n and n:1 digital signal from a water meter; without a signal, it doses a constant volume. Type B delivers 5 l/h at 7-10 bar, and Type C 10 l/h at 5 bar. The power supply is 90-265 V.

Users and applications
Optima is chosen for facilities where the dose needs to change with the amount of water entering the pool or with the signal from a controller. Lines running on water meter pulses, measurement panels with a 4-20 mA output and automation systems are typical uses. The pump does not measure anything itself; the measurement comes from another unit. If no signal is connected, the pump is set manually for constant volume dosing.

Installation and compatible equipment
Optima is hung on the wall by the bracket on its back and runs on a 90-265 V supply with a plug. The signal cable is connected through the cable entries under the body: the 4-20 mA line comes from the measuring unit, the pulse signal from the water meter. The suction line goes to the chemical container and the injection point to the return line after the filter. For the level alarm, a level probe is placed in the container.

Maintenance checkpoints
On a pump running on a signal, the first check is that the incoming signal is read correctly. The water meter pulse or 4-20 mA value is compared with the reading on the display at the start of the season. The pump head and the suction and discharge valves are checked for blockage. A container that triggers the level alarm is replaced immediately; a pump running with an empty container pumps air.

AstralPool Optima receives this signal as a 4-20 mA analogue line or as a digital pulse from a water meter. In digital mode, the 1:n setting gives several strokes per pulse, and the n:1 setting gives one stroke per several pulses.

Type B works at 5 l/h up to a back pressure of 7-10 bar and weighs 3.5 kg. Type C delivers 10 l/h, its back pressure limit is 5 bar and it weighs 4.5 kg. Type B is chosen for a high-pressure line, and Type C for a low-pressure line needing more chemical.

AstralPool Optima does not measure; it doses according to an external 4-20 mA or water meter signal. AstralPool Optima Next has a built-in pH/Redox controller and doses itself according to the value it measures with an electrode. Optima is chosen for a facility with a measurement panel, and Optima Next for a pump that will work on its own.

A water meter with a pulse output is connected to the digital input of Optima with a signal cable. The meter sends a pulse when a set volume of water has passed, and the pump makes strokes according to this pulse. The ratio between pulse and stroke is entered from the menu as 1:n or n:1. With the ppm function, the dose is set in ppm.

On Optima, a limit is entered for the maximum dosing rate; even if the signal rises, the pump does not exceed this rate. The level alarm protects the pump when the chemical container runs empty. The programmed values are locked with a password, preventing unauthorised changes. The memory function stores incoming signals and processes the dosing in sequence.

AstralPool Optima runs on a 90-265 V, 50-60 Hz supply and comes with a cable and plug. Thanks to the wide voltage range, no additional adaptor is needed on a 230 V mains supply. The supply line is installed so that it is energised while the filter pump is running. This way, no chemical is pumped into the line when there is no water flow.

Yes, the installation kit comes with the pump, and the parts needed for mounting are in the package. Optima is offered as Type B and Type C: Type B delivers 5 l/h at 7-10 bar and Type C 10 l/h at 5 bar. No separate order for mounting parts is needed.
