Zodiac EiSalt is a salt chlorinator that produces chlorine from the salt in the pool water and can be connected to an external ORP regulator via a dry contact. Çilek Havuz supplies EiSalt through quotes and as part of its projects. The EiSalt 12, EiSalt 21 and EiSalt 30 models produce 12, 21 and 30 g/h of chlorine and suit pools of 50, 90 and 140 m³. The cell is fitted vertically or horizontally and connects to DN63 pipe.

Users and applications
Zodiac EiSalt is chosen for pools where chlorine production is to be switched on and off automatically by an ORP regulator. The regulator measures the redox value of the water and activates the unit through the dry contact. As the cell can be fitted vertically or horizontally, the pipe layout is easier to arrange in narrow plant rooms. The model is chosen by pool volume.

Installation and compatible equipment
The electrolysis cell is fitted in the return line after the filter and connects directly to DN63 pipe, or to DN50 pipe with a reducer. The cell operates in a vertical or horizontal position. The control box is IPX4-rated and wall-mounted, and as the cell cable is 1.5 m long it is installed close to the cell. If there is an ORP regulator, it is connected to the dry contact input.
- The cell is fitted vertically or horizontally in the return line after the filter.
- A reducer is used on DN50 pipe.
- The control box is fixed to the wall no more than 1.5 m from the cell.
- The external ORP regulator is connected to the dry contact input.
- Salt is added to the pool and the concentration is brought to 5 g/l.

Maintenance checkpoints
The cell cleans itself with a polarity reversal set to every 2 or 3 hours; the shorter interval is chosen for hard water. Salt is topped up before the concentration falls below 3.5 g/l. Cell life is 8,000 hours. In installations working with an ORP regulator, calibration of the ORP sensor is also added to the maintenance schedule.
- The polarity interval is set to 2 or 3 hours according to water hardness.
- The salt concentration is monitored with a salt meter or a test kit.
- The cell plates are checked visually for scale build-up.
- Before winter, the cell is removed and stored in a frost-free place.

+90 216 475 39 37Zodiac EiSalt has a dry contact input reserved for ORP regulation. The relay output of the external ORP regulator is connected to this input. When the redox value of the water falls, the regulator closes the contact and the unit produces chlorine; when the value reaches the target, production stops. Chlorine production is therefore switched on and off according to the needs of the water.

The EiSalt cell operates in both vertical and horizontal positions. This makes installation easier in plant rooms where the pipework runs horizontally. The cell connects directly to DN63 pipe and to DN50 pipe with a reducer. The cell measures 21 x 34 x 11.6 cm and the cell cable is 1.5 m. The control box is installed close to the cell.

EiSalt has a dry contact for an external ORP regulator; its cell is fitted vertically or horizontally and lasts 8,000 hours. Zodiac Ei² has no dry contact, and its cell is fitted vertically and lasts 7,500 hours. EiSalt needs a salt concentration of 5 g/l and Ei² 4 g/l. The EiSalt 30 model goes up to 140 m³ pools.

The recommended salt concentration for EiSalt is 5 g/l and the minimum operating value is 3.5 g/l. The amount of salt needed is calculated by multiplying the water volume of the pool by the recommended concentration. The salt is added to the pool before the unit is started and fully dissolved in the water, and the concentration is measured regularly throughout the season.

There are three models: EiSalt 12 is sized for 50 m³, EiSalt 21 for 90 m³ and EiSalt 30 for 140 m³ pools. Their chlorine outputs are 12, 21 and 30 g/h and their power ratings 80, 100 and 180 W respectively. If the pool volume is close to the limit between two models, or use is heavy, the larger model is chosen.

Low mode is used when the pool is closed with a cover and reduces chlorine output to 10%. As the cover blocks sunlight, chlorine is used up more slowly, and full output would over-chlorinate the water. When the cover is opened, the unit is returned to Normal mode and output rises again to the selected rate.

EiSalt operates in water between 5 and 40 °C. The cell connects directly to DN63 pipe and to DN50 pipe with a reducer. The control box measures 20 x 30 x 13 cm and is rated IPX4. Polarity reverses every 2 or 3 hours, and the unit has a 2-year warranty.
